They're definitely inflated. Wilt played against 6-6 centers who didn't even contest shots like Willie Knauls in an era in which offesnive goaltending was legal and teams had ridiculous pacing, terrible shooting percentages, and hence averaged almost 120 ppg and 70 rpg.

Today small forwards are 6-10, actually defend, and teams average only 99 and 40....how do you think they're not inflated? :confused.

Not to say that wilt wouldn't have been great in any era, but he wouldn't be putting up 50 ppg or anywhere even remotely close to it today, he'd probably be a lot more like Shaq-level productivity.

Regarding Yao, if he didn't collapse from exhaustion or his knee exploding on the court due to re-di-culous "shoot every 10 seconds" offensive philosophy of the era, Yao would have easily put up 40-20 season in the early 60's, possibly even 50 or 60 if he just stood in front of the rim and goaltended every shot in.

I'm organizing judges. So, if he wants to judge, he can talk to me. I have a few judges already. We're going to have 5 or 7 judges.

Dont re-randomize... i was making light of the situation...

123 could you post that site about wilt that you posted at beginning of draft???

Im not denying the golatending and smaller players... but that doesnt mean they were fantastic players... wilt, russel, pettit, etc... would be just as good today... and just because talent these days are more athletic doesnt mesn theyre better or should be held in a higher regard....

You wanna re-randomize to avoid controversy? I will make the bracket after you post the randomized numbers. Just randomize from 1-14

Your also forgetting the shot clock saved the.game, because before it it was an extremely slow game... during the first few years of being instituted the offenses were hurrying thier shots because they were nervous of the new rule... but they got used to it in a year or two... teams back than still only averaged a little over a hundred which is about par with todays teams... to say they played at a more uptempo pace is stretching, as the likes of all the run and gun transition teams of today... ill give you worst shooting percentage because they werent nearly refined at shooting than as they are today... also there was no 3pt line, so players were being credited less pts per shot than modern nba players who could either make a long two or get a three...back then all you had was a two...

Wilt is an HOF in any era.

Russell reminds me of Dennis Rodman or Ben Wallace defensive specialist type today, I just don't think he's remotely as dominant in this era because his "first-mover" advantage of being an agressive defender is negated because everybody plays the way he does....and they're much bigger.

Pettit I'm not so sure about. A 6-9 205 pound finesse PF woudl get eaten alive today; bulk him up a bit with modern nutrition/training etc and maybe you've got something. Very hard to tell with guys like that.

No doubt it saved the game....but it's no stretch to say that they played at a more uptempo pace, it's a simple fact. There were simply a lot more early shots and hence a lot more possessions per game, resulting in a lot higher pacing.

Tmac shot nearly 40 percent from 3in his best year and he shot an average of 6 times. Dirk is a great shooter. Tiny is ok. English is my bench guy and I already have price who only shoots. I might keep English for a spark off the bench, but if I get a good offer, I'd move him
