But the difference is that the employer already set that money aside for the employee. It is something already paid for, for that particular employee.
You act like people don't want a job. You act like all they have to do is try and they'll get a job. This is simply not true and is completely illogical. There are not enough jobs to go around. Many companies aren't hiring as much as they should be; they're giving their executives gigantic bonuses instead of reinvesting in their own business (by hiring more people). And you know poverty will be directly proportional with crime. If a significant chunk of the population cannot house/clothe/feed themselves, what do you think they'll do? Curl up and die in a corner, hopefully where you cannot see them (out of sight, out of mind right?)? No, they'll do what they have to do to survive. I don't want to live in a country where we have a significant chunk of population that either dies, or has to commit crime to live, just because we have to fund our unnecessary wars and give tax breaks to large corporations that refuse to hire people and tax breaks to the richest of the rich. Oh, we'll just catch 'em and put 'em in jail, right? What is the difference to the taxpayer if we're feeling those in jail versus feeding those via food stamps? Also, the jails are full because our country lovingly houses 25% of the world's prisoner population. I see your comments as less of a partisan/opinion divide between you and I, and more like you are either a terrible, terrible human being... or just a freakin' idiot. I'm tired of beating around the bush on that one.
There are enough jobs. There aren't enough hard workers. When Juan, Pablo and Pedro with no car can find a job, there are enough jobs for English speaking citizens. Take the jobs from the mexicans. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/45246594/ns/business-us_business/t/why-americans-wont-do-dirty-jobs/
Yeah, except the boss can pay Juan, Pablo, and Pedro $4 an hour off the books, work them more hours, and not offer insurance. You can't do that when you hire Americans.
They won't even take $25 for 90 minutes work. When I looked at all the business cards placed on an overgrown lawn, they were all mexican names. The link in the article explains the new laws and regulations in Alabama that require strict documentation and proof of citizenship. There is a labor shortage among the farmers. The lazy workers are quiting halfway through the day. There are no jobs is BS. When I post my resume in November, I had recruiters bugging me every day and I am a college drop out. I had 5 offers for $15-$20k/yr more. I accepted an offer for $20k increase. It was for the same position. That's after all I got $25k/yr more from the last job hunt in 2008. That's $45k/yr raise, since the start of the recession. I know several hiring managers. They may find a great candidate with a nice resume, but the guy can't stay off drugs for 30 days to pass a piss test. Even when they do find somebody, you end up with guys that come in late too often or more interested in hollering at the cutie in the other cube than working. They have to waste time with one-to-one meetings and end up firing them. If a guy can stay off drugs for 30 days and come to work on time, they will be able to get a job and keep it.
For the second time, this is utterly wrong. Nationwide, there are still about 4-5 applicants for every job opening. What part of 5 > 1 do you not understand? see this vertical line |? See these vertical lines? |||||? Which is more? Get it ?
You don't live off $500 a month - rent, car, groceries, utilities, phone - that's why Deckard and I have asked you questions.
No kidding, unless he's living at home, or sleeping on a friend's couch for a while, before moving back home.
And I have answered them. I don't go to school. I take home about $530/mo and live off of it completely. Jealous? I don't live at home, I don't stay on a friend's couch, I live at in my own efficiency and pay my own bills.
Do you live in a shack in the middle of the woods? Do you hunt your own possum? Do you keep the air-conditioning off? Do you eat nothing but ramen? You're lying or you're omitting information (which, in this case, is basically the same thing as lying).
I sincerely doubt anybody's jealous. Usually on interwebs, people brag about making mad bank and living like ballaz. Trueroxfan has chosen the ascetic track. Bizarre-o world.
My room isnt that big. I dont eat possum i eat white rice and soup. I have worked since i was 16 so i have some savings but not much. I dont live in the woods i just found a very small place for a great price. I live very very close to work i dont go out and i dont spend money on much Juat because you cant do it doesnt mean its not possible. Get on my level....of poverty. Exactly why are you so concerned which my living? One person can live off of 1600 a month you just cant have an entertaining life.
None taken I am well aware of my boring life. I work an internship and part time job, doesnt leave much time for anything else, but itll be well worth it if i am hired on full time.
trueroxfan- do you take advantage of the many resources available to you from the State or Federal level? you qualify for benefits such as earned income credit, discounted utilities (depending on where you live), more than likely food stamps, etc...
