When it comes to the Cavaliers, Alonzo Gee has become the hottest name on the roster. Not just in Cleveland, either. That’s because Gee is a restricted free agent, a small forward with athleticism and repeated appearances on sports shows that feature high-flying dunks. --------- Several outlets have already reported the Suns are prepared to make a run at Gee – with a source telling The News-Herald the Suns could extend “a four-year, $16 million offer and hope the Cavs don’t match it.” The Suns, of course, aren’t alone. League sources told FOX Sports Ohio the Wizards, Celtics and Rockets will also enter free agency with Gee high on their wish list. Meanwhile, since the Cavs have the right to match any offer, they can afford to wait. Their plan likely consists of seeing who falls to them in the draft (they own the Nos. 4 and 24 picks in the first round), then tackling the Gee situation immediately after that. “They like (Gee) and hope to keep him,” said an Eastern Conference general manager. “But they’re going to have to fight for him, and they know that. I’m guessing a lot of how they approach it will be a result of what they do draft-wise.” Gee reportedly earned just more than $884,000 last season, playing in 63 of a possible 66 games. http://www.foxsportsohio.com/06/04/...Day-1/landing.html?blockID=740716&feedID=3725
he brings somehting no one else on our roster has.... nastiness. that being said, i dont really see the point..unless we plan to trade morris and bud
Finally, Morey does something that makes sense. He addresses our clear need for a sf. Thank you Morey. Thank you.
I like this guy. Good size, Good motor and he uses them well in defense, rebounds and can score a bit too. He can only improve. He would be a great pick up if we get him cheap. Cheap Mans Affalo. I like Trevor Booker too, he doesnt have good size for PF but he has long arms and can jump like a mofo. Great rebounder and hustle guy. He is a cheap mans Kenneth Faried.
Same here. I always find it odd though when a new agency says that a team will have to fight to keep on of their own restricted free agents. If the Cavs want Gee next season no one can do anything about it.
Phoenix, I understand. Golden State, I understand. Atlanta, I understand, but they are in salary cap hell. Washington, haven't they wasted enough good talent already. Boston, I understand, as long as they don't draft Taylor or White. Houston, WTF...????
Another thing is they can match pretty much team's salary, but who's going to overpay for him. He's a good upcoming player, but still ...
He's a nice player and all with good athleticism, but I see no need to clamore for his services. I think this is just the Rockets doing their due diligence as always on a possible up and coming player, as they always seem to be 'in the mix' for X player. I have a feeling he'll stay a Cav.
C.Lee replacement? http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2012/01/alonzo_gee_is_scoring_points_w.html
