Buxton was the best athlete, Correa was the best bat. Color me happy for the Astros finally having a grasp on what the most important tool in the game is. YOU CAINT STEAL FUHST YESSIRRAH!!!
How far will appel fall from the tree? I think he drops a couple more slots... overrated with an open windup rhat even college batters can spot coming out of his hand...
Appel is a good player, but he is no Correa (potential wise). Great pick Astros. Avoiding the Jeter situation. Yeah probably.
Awesome! I think it was the right choice. He seems to have star potential, plays a premium position, has less bust potential than Buxton but more upside than Appel. Even if he has to move to 3rd, it shouldn't be a problem since we have no 3B in our farm system. It's weird to have a Houston franchise draft who the fans wanted for a change. In Luhnow we trust!
I'm feeling a little Puerto Rican flavor.... Jose Orlando Berrios at 41??? Oh and F Scott Boras. I hope with the new slotting scheme this teaches players what will happen to them if they try to reach beyond their grasp.
I won't pretend I know anything about any of these guys but glad we didn't take a pitcher. If they hit on this guy he should be here for the next 15 years. And we will know for sure if the guy can play or not. A pitcher runs a chance of messing up his arm and never being the same. And seems your great pitchers these days are running into trouble before they even turn 30.
