Henson can split the 4 with D-Mo. He is skinny, but skilled and long,D-Mo will be better on offense. Sullinger won't fall to 14. He is a bit slow though.
Morey should go for Ross at 16. White should be available around the 20th pick.

The Rocket are among the worst teams in defending the PnR. Asik is one of the best at defending the PnR.

As Clutch said, big men come at a premium in free agency. Even if Asik doesn't improve he'll be worth his contract as it'll be bound by the Arenas rule, ie cannot be more than the MLE.

Dealing for Asik for the 14h pick is high upside move too.

And makes some sense. A halfway decent PG will be available there to help Chicago weather the no-All Star-PG season.

As for Henson, we definitely need his skill set. We'd have to move up to no worse than #8 or #9. Decent players from good college programs go quickly.

I get the feeling that chasing DHoward is going to distract us. Again.

If we could get Asik with #14 pick, then that would be the prelude to a deal for Dwight.

I would love to get Henson. He has been someone that I thought would be a great pick for the Rockets for a long time.

John Henson - improved from 43% to 51% on his free throws in 3 seasons. Can't shoot the 3 ball.

    Ugh....another one-way baller at best....ugh.

Wouldn't henson get abused by stronger players? He just seems too damn skinny. Definitely needs to get stronger if he wants to stay healthy and hold his own in the NBA.

Thanks hsf09 for your transcriptions - - very appreciated!

Skinny? There's that Durant kid who couldn't bench a gatorade.

Sullinger scares me. I just don't see him.

Is he Rolls Royce or a Mercedes bent? He's one guy I'd take a 'flyer' on.

Drummond? He was in awe of how Thabeet dominated him before the lockout lifted. No, please no.

PJIII - RGIII or an empty trey? If he slips, sure. Move up to get him? I would hope they know what they're doing.

Henson seems a safe pick. At 14.

I don't want any picks - I want to bring in PROVEN TALENT. I want the C's model, not the Thunder model.

Thanks, Clutch, for all you do for all of us!

I've only seen Henson the handful of times he's played Duke, but I always pegged him as a decent shooting big man, so your stat line surprised me. Dug a little deeper, found out he only shot 23% on 2-point jumpers. Abysmal! However, I love this kid. There are strength issues here, and some may say "Davis is skinny too," but Henson has been attempting to get big for the past 3 years. Hasn't changed a bit.

So yeah, his shooting is terrible, he's skinny & weak, but team him w/ McHale & Camby and I think this kid can grow into a stud. Going back to the Davis comparison, I wanted to compare their stat line when they went head to head: Davis: 7 pts, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks...Henson: 10 pts, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks. Neither dominated the other. Just wanted to point that out.

Agree that we will need to get at least the #8 pick.

I think I'm going to put ROYCE WHITE! in every thread like a Ron Paul groupie.
He and Davis were the college players last year that made me say "holy crap". He seems like the best shot at drafting a Super Star outside of the top 5 picks. Of course I know nothing about what's inside his head, but with the councilling, anxiety drugs and the luxury of a private charter plane available to an NBA player, I'd think you culd overcome those issues. He seems really driven.

I like Perry Jones a lot too but as a 6'11 small forward:

Unfortunately, Asik's impending free agency would preclude any sort of draft day trade involving one of the Rockets' 2012 picks. They couldn't even tentatively agree on a deal to be officially consummated on July 11, since Asik will want to explore his options in free agency first.

Yes, I understand it would be a delayed deal. But before July 1, can't the Bulls still talk to him? IOW, we could have a significant offer in pocket that the Bulls relay to him that he would agree to and we could go ahead and draft Chicago's man at 14. Of course, in my opinion, going to Orlando probably isn't high on Asik's list.

It's an exteme longshot. But I'm just considering all the possibilities of getting Orlando what they want with our assets. The problem with Orlando right now is no GM makes it very difficult to know which direction they want to move in, young players and rebuild or retool to make the playoffs with some salary cap flexibility.

That's way too long of a shot to be realistic. If Asik agreed to a three-team deal to be completed July 11, then his agent would never work in this league again.

    Not. Gonna. Happen.

    Nice try, though.

Just from watching this vid, even on the alley-oops where's he's coming in at a full run and getting about as high as he possibly can, it seems this guy's somewhat ground-bound, no? Sort of an anti-Carl Landry (short arms, good leaper). Not sure if that's something that translates in league or not (or if it's something likely to make him undervalued and trade-down-gettable)

The 3 ball should not even be discussed with this kid. He is a PF/C who will play in the post. No need to have a 3 point game. His defense is ahead of his offense, but he has the foundation to add to his post game. And with his size (could still bulk up to about 240) and wing span he can be a good low post scorer.

The free throws are a concern, but if he adds bulk and develops a low post game then I can live with a pedestrian free throw percentage. But of course like a post game, he can always improve on his free throws. Always important to keep in mind the restrictions that NCAA puts on kids practice time. In the pros he will have no such limitations and thus a greater chance of improving.
