My fossil watch from high school is just getting laughed at so hence the need for an upgrade. Their Victorinox line is known for some good quality quartz watches (not so much their automatic ones) for the amount of money I will be spending. This is only a temporary watch till I save up for a higher end watch towards the end of the year.

Yau are asking the wrong question....

You shouldn't worry with "What watch should I buy?", but with "How do I get my coworkers to notice the watch that I have purchased?"

    Options...

    1. The "Man, this watch is too uncomfortable to wear during this department meeting so I am going to remove it and lay it on the boardroom table leaving it in plain sight so that everyone will see how awesome it is and more importantly how awesome I am!" schtick.

    2. The Black and White "That's my watch" photo.

Email a black and white pic to your entire department of only a shot of your hand and wrist(with wristwatch) grasped firmly around your 2 inch long penis, with the captioned subtitle....."That's my watch!"

Why not just get a Seiko or Citizen or even a nice Timex if you're saving up for a nicer watch? I don't see how quality matters if you're planning to make it a backup later on. Style matters more than brand. Use the rest of that money on some good shoes or a nice suit.

And personally, I find chronos to be tacky. A nice watch should be something you can wear for the rest of your life, and most chrono styles are not exactly timeless.

Actually, I think you just proved my point for me. There are classic chrono models that have stood the test of time. Most chronos out there, however, are not classics. And even that watch, as nice as it is, is too informal for me to wear it with a suit.

Got this for my birthday a year ago or so and I like it a lot. I have had a lot of compliments on it as well.

People still wear watches? What's next? A monocle thread?

I love the Omega Chronos. I have an automatic Speedmaster myself. This is the non-auto professional (moon watch). Mine has the dials along the left instead of across the bottom, but I almost bought this one. I went with the automatic because I would always forget to wind this one.

For those 2 Swiss Army watches prices, you can get a nice Hamilton auto. I personally think Hamiltons are nicer then Swiss Armies.

Yeah hamilton really makes some nice looking watches. I really want a quartz movement for this purchase because once I have enough money for the nicer one I'll probably stop wearing it as much and don't have to deal with winding it back.

Seriously? You really need to rethink the direction of your life if you are concerned about people laughing at your watch.
