Actually I prefer the term "fat" to medically inaccurate terms like obese. But I am speaking only for me.

I eat delicious raw, veggie healthy cuisine and, when at a restaurant, I often like to wash it down with a large Coke. Free refills.

I don't trust aspratame or whatever other artificial sweetener they use. Just ain't 'the real thing.'

Why could you not just buy a big diet drink and then put 32 sugar packets in it?

    There are several things.
    1. The FDA falling down on the job.
    2. The ridiculously effective Advertising program that basically programs kids from birth
    3. More sedentary society [alot of jobs are not labor intensive]
    4. More sedentary leisure activites [XBOX 3 is more fun than freeze tag]
    5. bad foods are cheaper than healthy foods
    6. Healthier foods seem to take longer to prepare - when you worked 8~10 hrs then trying to cook . . . so much easier to order a pizza

Alot of this is personal and can be over come
but . . . i am just saying . .their is no ONE thing

Eh, just a publicity stunt to shine a light on a problem. I don't think anybody thinks this is good, passable or enforceable legislation.

Your speculation about NYC banning salt was stupid phony bull****. Tying it to your daughter's illness was a weak and unnecessary deflection. Fake story, fake outrage.

Survival of the fittest. If someone wants diabetes let them drink those drinks.

bloomberg should have stuck with a 5 penny soda tax. Raise enough money for diabetes treatment cost, even though it probably would have been pissed away on his garden.

a "health" tax in my opinion would be more efficient than this

charge the extra 5 cents on any soda, and mark it as a 'health' tax item

Big difference between five cents a soda and 25% of your entire income. Or do you not see that?

I would prefer the government cut subsidies to corn and potato growers so the price of soda, doritos, chips, fries, ketchup and everything else that's **** go through the roof.

making stuff like this illegal is truly un-american
