I have never heard of a "blood virus". His words or medical terms?

Did he have a virus that was detected/diagnosed with a blood test?

A "potentially deadly blood virus" and recovery in a week?

    What was it? West Nile?

Aldridge's virus and Lowry's bacterial infection. I know they don't have to share all or be specific - but why not just say what they had? Why so vague? Why announce it but be so secretive about it?

I am sure one would not want to go public with a STD diagnosis - but other than that - why not just tell what "it" is?

Didn't LaMarcus have a near death situation last year too?
    Blazers are definitely cursed.
Don't be surprised if Greg Oden's third leg gets amputated sometime soon!

Does it have to do with the recent string of zombie attacks?

cause it's a medical matter, they have a right not to say what it is.

Of course they have the right to medical privacy. To tell "your" public that you are recovering from a potentially deadly virus and not saying what it is just causes speculation.

What comes to mind: HIV, Hep., West Nile, Hanta, Ebola, Malaria etc.

I doubt is any of the above - but perhaps Hep.

Would that affect his future in playing and being traded? I guess the insiders would have to know. A team would sign him not knowing?

Whatever - I am concerned for the guy.

Perhaps he means he got a staph (bacterial) infection.

Probably Sepsis which is a bacterial infection in the blood. In layman's terms it can be sometimes called a blood virus, and is a possible side affect after a major surgical operation especially one involving a bone/cartilage with lots of bone marrow where blood cells are formed.
