What the heck is an "indefinite" return for an injury?

So the Heat coach said this about Bosh, "his return is indefinite." Huhh??? Isn't that like saying he'll never come back? If someting is indefinite, doesn't that mean it has no limit, that it goes to infinity? Like an indefinite integral. So if he's unsure of Bosh's status, why not say Bosh's return is unclear?

Coach Spoelstra was a math major so he talks in abstract mathematical terminologies.

My guess also but maybe not if the Heat win game 4.

He needs to give it a go for a game and get all the rust off. He can't use game 1 of the Finals to do that. Heat aren't better than Spurs/OKC to afford that luxury.

That's one way to look at it but there is a greater risk of re-injury if he plays too soon. Might be best to take another week off. If the Heat win Sunday, they won't need Bosh for game 5. If they lose Sunday (and depending how they lose), he WILL play game 5.

I'm sure they're not going to play him unless he's 100% ready. But from the sounds of things, he's traveling with the team, participating in shootaround/workouts -> he's close.

His return isn't defined. Not known....

Not a big deal, we know what he means.

Shane Battier has indefinite intangibles. If you know what I mean.
