No problem. T-Mac didn't get minutes. He looked solid for one stretch where he got the ball. Oh well. Time to donate.
Thread with a bet that still needs paying... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=6170981#post6170981 Argument ensues, then... Then proceeds to no-show all summer...
Tip Jar has been filled in the name of SacTown ...but I was really looking forward to the christening of TrollTown...*sigh*
Years ago (like maybe 10 years), the poster Chance, the one that "wrote" the Yao Ming song, and was for a time on local sports radio, made a political bet with me (something like Bush would beat Kerry by 10% or something) and lost. I told him that if he lost I'd like some sweet sports radio seats to a Rockets game and he said that was cool and I should just choose the game and he'd take care of floor seats. I asked what he'd want if I lost and he said a moniker change would be sufficient. So of course he lost. And one day, not a couple months after that, I contacted him to see if I could collect. "Of course," he said. I chose the game, he said no problem. I confirmed and double-confirmed with him and asked for a phone number in case I had trouble picking up tickets at will call, which was what he advised me to do. I and a friend were dropped off at the Toyota Center that night (this was before most people, including me, had cell phones), went to will call, and lo and behold, no tickets. I asked under his name (which he'd told me to) but was told he didn't have any tickets for that night. I asked under my moniker name, his moniker name, my real name (which he knew)... No tickets. I called the number he gave me and it rang at his office voicemail. Obviously I left a rather angry message. I was left with no tickets and had to take a cab home so I could drive my disappointed friend home. We'd thought we were going to see a playoff-seed determining game from floor seats. Instead we left empty-handed and out about $20 in cab fare. I emailed him and called again with no response. Then I posted about it here and got a response. "So sorry, will do it for another night next season if you want, just forgot, so busy, you know how it is." Yes, I do know how it is because I am busy too. That's why I double confirmed the seats on the day of the game. I don't have time to go to games I don't have tickets to. He never did make good on the bet. Lesson? Never trust a Republican.
He's not just someone online. He is a public personality who "wrote" the Yao Ming song and was a sports radio co-host. He is also an obnoxiously Republican Republican. And, of course, he is also a welsher. We spoke on the phone the day the tickets were supposed to be at will call and he assured me they were already there.
He didn't for a long time. I saw a post from him a few weeks ago saying he was going back into the studio and wanted song suggestions but I know he doesn't have the gig anymore and he doesn't have the free tickets anymore so I just said why bother. This thread just reminded me of it. And I think welshers deserve to be called out. Especially Republican ones.
Paid. $60. Is your $10 in? Didn't mind paying it either. Glad we didn't get him. Convinced Morey didn't want him.
