Actually, all of those options you gave us are pretty much implied in the trade thread haha.

Length isn't as important as the ability to use your body strength to get solid positioning down low, something Sullinger already has. He's one of the only bigs in the draft with an nba ready body. He fluctuates between 265 and 285. This guy is a BRUISER and will bring the toughness we need down low. This guy will end up being one of the steals in the draft. Think a younger, taller, Chuck Hayes with a post game.

May didn't work out due to constant knee problems. But just b/c a player isn't 7 ft doesn't mean they can't play the 5.

The people who see 6'9 and immediately write Sullinger off as undersized are the same people who looked at Hasheem Thabeet and had to have him.

Always draft. Always trade Lowry in this draft. Do everything encompassing this draft. I dont care what else we do after that. I cold care less because its likely the most effective thing that will happen or could to this franchise is in this draft. Anything else is not news worthy to talk about thats possible in the offseason. So whatever I would do? If I was GM would be obtaining draft picks and or moving up in the draft. Anything else is useless if we are realistic with each other.

I think I have floated this around in a couple other threads, but it fits here too so here it goes.

Massive trade that I doubt would happen but hey I'm the GM so I will go hard for this one

Rockets trade: Lowery, Patterson, 14th pick (2012) future 1st rounder
Kings trade: Evans, 5th pick (2012)

I would then follow that up with

Rockets trade: Martin, 16th pick (2012)
Blazers: 11th pick, If needed some salary in return

    Draft:
    5th pick: Andre Drummond
    11th pick: Damian Lillard

In FA'cy resign Dragic and Lee, cut Dalembert and resign Camby to a one year deal

    2012/13 squad:
    Dragic/Lillard
    Evans/Lee/Dragic
    Parsons/Morris/Evans
    Scola/Motiejunas/Morris
    Camby/Drummond/Motiejunis

I like this squad because we have a guy who can score on the wing in any fashion (Evans) we have a good looking 7 foot PF/C combo for the future in Motiejunas and Drummond, and we can play Lillard, Dragic and Evans together for longer stretches as they get used to one another over the years. I see this as a potentially fantastic ovensive trio with great size and protection down low.

Moving forward 8 of the 10 guys on my team are here for at least the next 5 years. The only other thing to add after the 12/13 season would be a reserve big.

I think the main reason why Evans handles the ball so much is because the Kings don't have much else to handle the ball and set up the offense. With Dragic on board, he can play off the ball, use his strength and speed to create seperation and attack defenders while playing as a primary scorer first and not a ball handler.

If I was in control, I would try everything to get Howard. If we can land Howard, I would make a play for Deron Williams. If we can't land Howard, I would blow the whole thing up. Quit the useless strategy of remaining competitive while rebuilding and suffer some losing seasons to get high draft picks like we should have been doing all along. It is painfully obvious that no superstars are going to sign with us so we have to either trade for one or get one through the draft. I seriously doubt we will ever draft a superstar at #14 and our chances of winning the lottery are very low so we almost have to blow this team up and tank to get better if we can't make a major trade.

I believe Anthony Davis will almost definitely be a superstar. While there would be no guarantees we would of landed the top pick, this would have been the PERFECT year to tank. I hope Les realizes remaining competitive is a completely useless strategy if no superstars will sign with your team.

OK I'm in - but you all have heard it all before.

I trade Lowry, Scola and the Dallas protected first round pick to LA for Gasol (4 million in cap relief = 16+ million in luxury tax relief)

I trade PPat, Morris, Llull and the 14th for Atlanta's Josh Smith (4 million in cap relief yields 12 million in luxury tax relief)

I draft Ross with the 16th (OK OK he might not be there)

And I seriously look at ditching Martin after he hopefully recovers from his shoulder injury at the trade deadline. But he is an expiring so unless he brings back a lot I don't.

I resign Dragic for whatever it takes.

    I deal Dally for cap.
I resign Camby for ~3 million
I let Lee walk if he costs more than 5 million

    Starters: Gasol/Smith/Parsons/Martin/Dragic

    Bench Camby/Motiejunas/Bud/Ross/???

And I am still at the cap with Martin coming off next summer and Gasol the year after that.

Not bad. Probably actually a little better than Morey has planned.

Sorry - I have to disagree. I see Sully as a wider Scola. Like size, like athleticism, like moves. Just my opinion.
