I think the bobcats need it. Do away with this stupid lottery system. Leave it to chance only if there is a draw.

People always criticize the lottery system, but yet what's wrong with it compared to the traditional process ... where the worst team automatically gets the worst pick. Why did the NBA change it? Because, rumors were rampant around the league that many lower-rug teams were taking.

I don't get why you only have 6 choices and leave our team out.

Then let them tank. If your going to change the system to fix a problem then it should remove the problem.

It forces teams to get better across the board, instead of just focusing on landing a high pick.

A pick is only modest way of improving a team, because you have to pieces around that particular player. Only the better or best franchise will be able to that well enough to become a perennial contender or an NBA championship team.

I believe Los Angeles (lakers), Boston, Dallas, San Antonio, and even Miami (once the big 3 have faded). On the tail end, I'll add teams, like Utah, Phoenix, Portland, or Atlanta.

Most of those teams over the course of NBA history (except Dallas( have found a way to stay competitive for the most part, even in keeping their down periods limited.

How come Cleveland, Toronto, Washington,or Minnesota are always the usual suspects? Which one of these could you point to and say they've had pretty consistent and competent team management? Almost none of them, except Toronto.

Everyone in Cleveland or Lebron haters/detractors point the finger at him for making Cleveland a terrible team. I thought team management was the one responsible for building a competitive team.

Realistically, these teams do not have the right front offices to win a title or even a perennial playoff team. I hate how people used to blame KG for not getting out of the 1st round, especially he wasn't the one making all of bad decisions in the front office (drafting mediocre players, signing ridiculous contracts to marginal NBA players).

Besides the Rockets, I'd wanna see the Bobcats or Cavs get it.

Why the Bobcats..I could careless about them. Pair Davis/Irving or Davis/Wall or Davis/Cousins and we could be onto something.

    Their tanking was disgraceful.

Bobcats. Cho went in, read management the riot act, and then pulled off the most epic fail in NBA history.

If not us, Cavs or Raptors. I'd love to see those two teams build a juggernaut that dominates the big market teams in the East.

I don't think Washington was necessarily tanking. It's just a chaotic organization with no direction. Having penchant for bad moves does not help.

    1. People on this board was laughing at Denver for giving up Nene and going with McGee. That was a not tanking move at the time and the Washington probably thought (like most critics) he'd be an upgrade over McGee (sort of, kind of). Not really and he's got that huge salary. Most of all, Nene is not an extraordinary player in any sense of the word, though he's much more consistent player than McGee. During the playoffs, McGee was one of the reasons Denver stood a fair chance against LA. He could guard their front-line players and he was an active body. Hasn't reached his potential, yet. Nene was bound to get worse with each passing season, while he's got that horrible contract (THANK GOD, the Rockets didn't sign him).

1A. Nick Young was a well-needed player on the Clippers. Consider a knucklehead in Washington.

    2. Washington actually has (and had) the talent to compete for the lower Eastern Conference seed. When I look at NBA teams, the Wizards/Bullets probably have arguably the most unfulfilled young talent of almost any team, along with Milwaukee, Toronto, and Golden State. They got all sorts of talented young players, but never effort, heart, or the coaching to improve.

The Washington Bullets/Wizards need new ownership, new GM, and a good head coach.

    Maybe, just contract them.

Figured this was as good a place to ask as any: does anyone know why the "lottery" is only for the first 3 picks? Why not make the entire thing a lottery system?
