Sneijder is a much better asset to the team than RVDV imo. I'd be shocked it Sneijder isn't a starter.

After reading up today, it does look like Willems, the 18 year old, will be starting at left back since Pieters isn't on the team. That should be interesting.

On the racism front, just watched that video and it's pretty crazy. But honestly, I'd be shocked if something actually happens in the stadium, however, outside the stadium, I would not be surprised.

It depends, The way i think they should play is with RVP and Huntelaar in the centre, on one side you have to put Robben. So we only have the left wing position.

The problem with Sneijder is that I do not know how well he plays on the wing. We know RVDV is capable of playing on the wing. But the problem with both players it that they lack speed and come to the middle to much.

Sneijder has not have a good year. so I would probably start with RVDV but I think I would bring Sneijder on every game. But if Sneijder proves in the friendly or at practice that he can play on the left wing he can also start.

Bouma is on the squad because we do not have a left back. And do not be shocked if he actually starts some games. Willems is just to young, and against teams like germany i think Van Marwijk will start Bouma (unless Willems impresses him a lot).

Oh i think Sneijder will start. I doubt van Marwijk will play with both Huntelaar and RVP in the centre. But I want him to.

Anyone watching this Spain v. Korea friendly? Pretty evenly matched so far. The Korean goal was pretty nice.

At work :(. Following match on the gamecast, will watch when I get home.

Tied 1-1 at halftime. I have a feeling Spain is going to explode for 2-3 goals in the second half. We'll see though.

Yeah I'm just streaming it at work too. Where are all the big name Koreans? It seems like they're all domestic players.

Park retired from the national team. He says he is done but I hope he will come back one last time for the next WC.

Most of the foreign-based players are not on this current roster.

By the way, what are you using the stream? For some reason firstrowsports doesn't support internet explorer and I don't have the rights to install software on my work computer (only IT does).

Why aren't they though? They sure could use EPL players like Park Chu Young, Cha Doo Ri, Lee Chung Yong, etc..

I'm shocked that Ribery is only 12th. He should be at least top 5, maybe even top 3 behind Iniesta and Ronaldo. Van Persie and Xavi is on the same level, but there is no way he is not better than Luka Modric.

Absolutely sickening. If UEFA thinks this is going to help things, they're just as nucking futs as those racist pieces of s*** shown in that piece.

This list is so ridiculously stupid. Joe Hart ahead of Manuel Neuer? HAHAHAHAHA.

And I guess they will put Rooney in the top 8, ahead of Ribery, Schweinsteiger, Robben? HAHAHAHAHAHA.

And that still doesn't even come close to Russia!
I'd be more peeved about the Russian football fans racism even more so than Poland/Ukraine. Especially because the World Cup will have African teams and fans involved.

    Terrible stuff.

Its debatable who's better than who, its not like there is a huge gap between the two.

You are being unfair to Rooney, he scores in almost 40% of the games he plays in(national team), that's quite good. Ribery and Robben are far more talented in their dribbling and passing, but they are not consistent enough to be considered better than Rooney.

Van der Vaart won't start. It will be the same lineup as at the World Cup, except:

    1) Willems in for Pieters, due to injury. He tried Stijn Schaars as left-back but I don't think he will do this at the tournament.
    2) Afellay instead of Kuijt.

I'm pretty happy with this. Sneijder didn't play well in the world cup either but he was decisive. Just like he was with his pass against Bulgaria and almost again against Slovakia on Wednesday night. Though if van Marwijk were to decide to bench van Persie and Sneijder in favour of van der Vaart and Huntelaar I wouldn't be wanting to lynch him. I don't really fancy moving things around and playing people out of position. Van der Vaart has played well sometimes on the left (like at Euro 2008 against Italy/France) but usually he's disappointing. It's not his position. He played well today against Slovakia though so perhaps he should be given the nod ahead of Sneijder? The match seemed a bit more dynamic with him playing but that might just be due to the opposition getting tired at the end of the match.

The key for me will be the defence holding on and the star players having good tournaments. If we have Robben/Afellay, a midfielder (VDV/Sneijder) and a forward on top form (v Persie or Huntelaar) then we have a chance. Afellay actually played really well today and I'm excited to see him perform on the top stage. It would be fantastic to have two incredible threats on either wing. Annoyingly, Bouma and Sneijder both went off injured last night. Hopefully it's nothing serious as we can't afford it!

ATW, I was reading that Schweinsteiger is having issues with fitness? Is he going to make it? I remember when Robben was injured before the WC a news website created a special page with updated news on his injury every couple of hours. Lol. That was a tense time!

That list is ridiculous. Then again I think it's very very difficult to rate players like this when it comes to football. I do think it's laughable that someone like Eriksen is that high on the list. He had a decent season with Ajax and is definitely a huge huge talent but there is no way he should be that high (especially considering the guys rated lower than him).
