8Th pick should land you Battier type. And Lowry when healthy is better than D Williams( poor defense), let alone his cheap contract.
Cant argue that the value of the 8th pick is Battier and that Lowry is WAYYYY better than Battier. They were both our players so we should know better than anyone else.
you must be out your mind if you think the raptors would consider derozan and their 8th pick for the 14th pick and lowry. first off derozan is just 22 with room to improve.
They are just trying to get too much. 8th pick is certainly easily attainable if Morey wants it though. Derozan not even in the picture.
I think if we can potentially have 3 first round picks in a draft that is the deepest in a long time we have to do it or at least try . kyle doesnt want to stay . Mchale isnt going anywhere at least for this upcoming year. 3 first round picks might sound intising to either move up on the draft or trade for a star. add in some young players and we might have something.
I believe the Rockets will try their hardest to trade Lowry on draft night, even knowingly they might not get Dragic back. If Lowry is still here after draft night and Dragic signs elsewhere, the Rockets will be forced to take a lower value package, or risk a timebomb at training camp. Right now, I Lowry is at a point of no return. He should ask to be traded, instead of pointing fingers. Lowry in Toronto will put up the same numbers, the team will be like the 2011-12 Rockets, but if he is put into a built team, he will do wonders.
Lowry for 8th pick isn't a great deal--however, if the 8th pick can then be packaged with our other picks to move up further, into the top 5, it might be worthwhile.
Also, DeRozan is a f***ing joke. Quite possibly the worst starter in the entire NBA last season when you look at the advanced statistics. If you want him, you're crazy. He sucks.
8, 14 and 16 and Patterson for Davis? Charlotte would consider in this deep draft with lots of holes.
Then your not very bright I guarantee they take Lowry for 8th ...shoot we gave the 8th for barrier and that pick was Rudy gay...Lowry is >>>>> over barrier signed to a great contract. Your telling me they because they would loose a one deminsional scorer who has not panned out and get another great contract with bud that will replace the scoring....you obviously have no idea. I doubt rockets have any interest in derozan...another twill situation. Maybe Davis gets it done but I guarantee we have to throw another big in? Maybe dalenbert That would give them a big rotation of Sammy, baragni, valancius, Amir.... Not too shabby with Lowry at the point
I agree about Lowry's value being worth the 8th pick (and maybe more), but I want to clarify something about your Battier trade value comments. Please note that Lowry is on a reasonable contract, but he's only locked up for two more years, after which time he could bolt Toronto as an unrestricted free agent (which he'd likely do). By comparison, Battier had just recently signed a long-term deal with Memphis before being traded to Houston. At the time of the trade, Battier was locked up for FIVE YEARS at (what Morey admitted was in his mind) a very reasonable salary given his overall production and contributions to winning basketball games. Oh, and I have a hard time believing that the Rockets have overwhelming interest in Ed Davis after they literally CHEERED when he was taken by Toronto and Patrick Patterson--a guy who plays the same position--fell to them in the draft. Both have been decent-to-solid thus far in their careers. I see no reason why the Rockets would want to give up on Partterson at this point.
not a martin fan . . . Lee and DeRozan make for an athletic backcourt that can play both ends of the floor . . .
