Because he is a dumbass who has never been a successful coach anywhere, instead of relying on Finch to coach the system he allegedly coached last year too.... And yes, I know Dally is not a high post passer....but when the right guys where in they still could have run the sets, especially late in games where McDumbass was running Ppat and Scola at the bigs spots....perfect time for the Adelman High post read and react set. DD
I won't address "The McHale System... Does it Exist?" argument here, but I will say that McHale's substitutions in the 4th made me lose more of my hair, and there ain't much to lose, folks. The Patterson/Scola at the 4/5 idea McHale persisted in going to had me screaming at the TV on more than one occasion. OK, after several games I had to gargle with salt water during time outs. It was that bad.
McHale had no off season and the number of practices he had available once the season started you could probably count on one hand. And you don't believe that was an major contributing factor? Like I have said before - top 50 all time player in the NBA, obviously not the dullest tool in the shed, involved intimately in the highest of echelons of the NBA for his entire adult life. AND YOU THINK YOU KNOW BETTER. NOT NOT NOT. Your hubris is starting to become rather unbecoming and smelly.
McHale does not coach in a vacuum. He has the best assistants money can buy, and as a top 50 all time NBA player he has experience you cannot buy. And you are b****ing about his substitutions? And good sir exactly what are your applicable qualifications to coach an NBA team. Astound me with your analysis of the NBA game, silence me with your intuitive understanding of the reaction to the ebb and flow in the best BB league in the world. I thought not.
With all due respect, go **** yourself. Who made you judge and jury about opinions on anything on this board?
My thought is Mc Hale is average at best and so are the players. People dont want to hear that. We want to nlame their least favorite people and save face for the best. In this case the players are average and so is the coach. Now one has to change. Since we already changed the coach? I dont spend my time wringing my hands about something pretty much set. the players however have sucked for going on 3 years and 2 coaches. Therefor Morey needs to change the players he put in because he also is average if thats true. At best. Until he proves or the players prove otherwise. So what we need is draft picks and trades. Hope to God Morey in all his averageness evens out and hits one big finally.
God i love an intelligent and insightful reply. You good sir just made my day. I just asked questions. Really uncomfortable questions. LOL. And that is the best you can do?
There is no scapegoat. They are all average. They all suck. Including the GM, coach, and players. Only a few young players and draft picks are worth anything.
The truth is Morey got his average numbers team. Coach on down to the players. Get it done Morey. Better find that better than average draft pick and number of draft picks. Haul in the best draft this year. Better than average somewhere. Get it together. I dont care if we keep the coach, Lowry, who the F you all blame. Its the GM who will leave after this year if he 500 ball continues and the seats are empty again next year. Bye Morey if you dont get it done. BYE!
Mchale has been unimpressive as a coach. Clearly doesn't have the team behind him, and clearly not a great strategist. I don't think a summer will help. They went with a cheap coach and got a cheap coach.
Thats moneyball right? The person who is gonna pay next after changing players and coaches is not the owner. Its the GM. He is next. So he better hope other teams are offering the 6th and 8th picks or some actual trades to offer a new direction this time. Somehow those deals magically appear for him he couldnt make them other years. Morey is gone if Les gets another empty seat year and the team has no direction again or no star. I dont think Les Alexander means Pau Gasol either unless someone else helps Pau Gasol overachieve for one season. Its time draft the Rockets back to prosperity. That means cleaning house for draft picks or moving higher if need be. This time Moreys job is on the line.
You know, I do post on different threads and different boards. And if someone challenges my opinion and I cannot back it up I either retract a statement or profess my ignorance and ask questions. There is no dishonor in that.
And how would you defend that opinion? I really am tiring of this game so I do not think I am going to attack it. But what facts are you basing your statements on? And if I typed in 60 words baring your lack of a concrete foundation in reality, how would you respond?
You didn't ask uncomfortable questions. You implied that no one here is qualified to criticize McHale b/c none of us have an NBA pedigree. Out of curiosity, do you support all the moves Isiah Thomas made when he was GM for the Knicks? Do you also feel that Joe Johnson is worthy of a max contract? By your logic, you should. After all, those decisions were made by NBA executives who have invaluable experience, both as players and in the front office. But then again, if you do agree with those moves, then you're an idiot. Do you see how your logic fails?
But you can continue blaming the coach guys. The draft is soon. What Morey does next will determine how we feel about our team next year. Time to grade Morey. Inclompletes are no longer available with my grade for this offseason. A incomplete is now a failure if I give one to Morey.
Isiah Thomas was in the FO. These posts have nothing to do with the FO. The Joe Johnson contract was abhorrent and ill considered. But that too was FO. Have I been hallucinating or what? I thought this thread was about McHale as a coach. Ohhh, misdirection. I get it.
Pop is such a great coach. The spurs have an amazing offense. If only mchale could have an offensive system a fraction as good as pop's.
