I don't think David Stern hates Houston. The Rockets just so happened to be that third team in the CP3 to Lakers deal. We have the All-Star Game this year, and Stern will tell the Rockets "my bad" and give us Anthony Davis. Then Morey signs Williams (because he sees the long-term potential, unlike in Dallas). Lowry stays as the backup, which he gladly accepts.

Nah, we'll just get the 14th pick. :)

How awesome would it be to win the Lottery? Still dont know why they dont give all 14 teams a chance to move up to any other spot, not just the top 3.

In the real lottery, doesn't everyone have an equal chance? Why not do the same for the NBA draft lottery?

The lottery was instituted because Houston tanked to get the Dream. It was modified further when Orlando, with a 2.5% chance, won the lotto (for the second year in a row - memory, bad memory here) and walked away with Howard.

I understand why it is, just don't see the problem with a team with a 2.5% chance winning the 1st pick again.

Me neither. But there are 29 other owners out there, and they probably were furious that day.

Actually, the Rockets, in my humble opinion, tanked two seasons in a row, adding "insult to injury." That resulted in Ralph Sampson, a future Hall of Famer, and then Akeem. The draft hasn't been the same since.

This is the time of year when I attempt to delude myself that we will finally taste luck again. So what the hell, I'm predicting that they won't call out Houiston at 14. They'll call out another team, and we will fall somewhere in the top three.

Yeah, but they did not start tanking in the 2nd season until late Feb, or early March and man did they go into the tank.

I recall the Clippers winning on the last day of the regular season like fools putting Houston in the coin flip again.

"5. HOW OFTEN DOES A LONG-SHOT COME IN? Under the current format in place since ’94, only six teams slotted seventh or lower have moved up to the top three. The most recent time it happened was last year, when Cleveland owned the Clippers’ pick and moved from No. 8 to No. 1 and took Kyrie Irving. The team slotted 14th has never moved up, the No. 13 team has moved up only once (Charlotte to 3rd in 1999), the No. 12 team has never hit, the No. 11 team has moved up only once (Orlando, 1993, No. 1 overall), the No. 10 pick has moved up once (1990, Charlotte, to 2nd), the No. 9 pick has moved up once (Chicago, 2009, to No. 1 overall); and last year was the first time the No. 8 pick moved up to No. 1."

This is what the Houston fans want to hear tonight..

..The 14th pick goes to..the Phoenix Suns.
