More importantly, what the heck does the front office think of these guys. You saw in the past three years who they were looking trade down to get. They obviously saw something in those three guys that tipped them off about how good they would be. Other than Anthony Davis, there has to be someone else that they have their eyes set on. I have no freakin clue who that is right now. If I had to guess I would say Sullinger fits the Rockets like a glove. Yes, he's a PF, but he seems to have a special talent for scoring in the paint, and rebounding. I wouldn't go as far as to claim him the next Kevin Love or Charles Barkley, but he has some of those similarities in his style of play and abilities to track the basketball for rebounds.
i'd take Derozan… and i'm sure this all depends on where toronto ends up tomorrow in the lottery.. if they get a top 3 i bet we could swing a DeRozan trade and then they would take Beal at number 3 as his replacement.
I should have been more specific but I do think we can get the raptors 8th pick for lowry and lets say our 14th pick. Some people were saying we get back a package of derozan/8 or valancuinas/8, thats what I thought was unrealistic. Oh and cmon man the battier trade? I'm pretty sure most can agree that was a fluke that rarely happens. I can't think of any kind of trades similar to that one recently.
Drummond will not fall to #8 unless he just has a god-aweful combine. Every game I watched UConn play in, the more I fell out of love with Drummond. Nobody else in the draft has a higher potential "bust" rating. He's a gamble if there ever was one, but just like in every draft, true big men are a rarity nowadays. He will go in the top 5 just because of his size and athletic abilities.
I would love the 6th pick, but the raptors pick would be good too. I think we try to get Jonas, if not that, then get Barghani, if not that, then get the 8th pick and derozan.
I'm sure that the Raptors will pursue Lin before wanting Lowry. The only game the raptors sold out was when Lin came. He's a cash cow and he's potential. If they strike out, they will then pursue Dragic. They miss out again, they will try for Lowry. That also means we won't be picking with the pick; only trading for the guy they picked.
Jonas V. & Barghani are said to be off limits according to who you ask. 8th pick + Amir Johnson will be worse case scenario. 8th pick + Ed Davis sounds win/win for both sides.
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/220827/Casey_Valanciunas_Worst_Case_Scenaro_Is_Noah read that, and stop bringing up Jonas They arent trading that kid We have a better shot trading for the Raps next 5 first rounders than getting this kid, The Raps are that high on him
jonas v ins basically untouchable in terms of what we have to offer... People hate on andrea's rebounding but I always though he would better be utilized as a powerforward. Thats why i think it wouls also be tough to get him becuase the raptors want to experiment with that pairing. A team of derozan, the pick, andrea and jonas are a solid core for a young team to grow (already better core than wiz, bobcats, nets and other bottom feeders)
Reading these threads some how reminds me of watching Chicago so many years ago on Broadway. The cuckolded husband singing Cellophane Man. Except maybe cellophane is now speculate.
What are they gonna do with Calderon? They need to dumop him somewhere else, cause Id hate to see us ending up with Calderon. What if we miss out on Dragic too and end up having to settle with Calderon? Id love to get my hands on Ed Davis and their pick for Lowry+our picks.
I think your trade is ok. Lowry for 8th pick is not fair NJ gives favors + 3th pick for williams Williams is better than Lowry, but not so much better, plus Lowry contract is much better than Williams
WTF???????? DWill is on another planet than Lowry, he is not just a little better, he is a **** load better. DD
