Bad McHale McHale has ruined relationships with the huge contributors on our team, namely Samuel Dalembert and Kyle Lowry. The second we got Marcus Camby, Samuel Dalembert was considered expendable (until Camby got injured and we looked pathetic because McHale had "moved on" from using Dalembert, who was characterized as slow). I tell you what, in the NBA, if you got size, you use it. You don't get quicker and smaller to play against the Nuggets and the Jazz, key matchups we lost to at the end of the season. Dalembert had great stats early in the season, although sometimes inconsistent. What was McHale hoping for, a fresh Camby without injury risk. The second he inserted Camby into the starting lineup, he introduced great risk to our team chemistry. On to Lowry, how disrespecting to not see alongside the leader of our team, shame on you McHale. Just because Lowry was unable to play, and Goran stepped up, does not mean you don't listen closely to the player who has represented Houston more strongly than any other in the past two seasons.
Andre Iguodala was pissed off after the 2011 season and blew off the exit interview. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/28/s...f-76ers-changes.html?_r=1&partner=rss&emc=rss Played hard this year.
Thanks hsf, but hard to truly understand exactly what the situation is between these players and McHale. I mean other other seniority and starting the year off as starters who lost their spot due to dealing with injuries Martin and Lowry don't seem all that similar in the way they play the game. If anything their biggest likeness in mindset is being a professional 99% of the time. I have a feeling that this is all boiling down to the Rockets forcing "their coach" out and replacing him with an outsider. It just didn't entirely boil over during the season because they both had injury issues, everyone was just happy to even have a season, and the season went by so quickly.
I thought he was a player's coach like Adelman.... Well I am wrong... he is just old school and has little clue
First rule.. Only keep items you can take out by hand.. Second rule... Never keep pics on the desk... Third rule... Know that every day you go to work is potentially your last day.
Mcfail: "Luis, go play center. You are gonna be guarding (insert center name here).. Camby, come out.X is a bad matchup. Pat, you guard (insert pf who can rebound here)." ....... we allow them to go on a 10-2 run.......... *Claps* No timeout Mcfail: "C'mon defense guys. Defense. Keep trying." We lose. Story of Mchale.
Lowry was a lot more attached to Adelman than I realized. I just came across this, but apparently he wanted to be traded to the Minnesota last summer to play for RA... [rQUOTEr]Lowry is playing pickup ball this summer in Houston with Wolves forward Anthony Tolliver. "It's funny, but Kyle made a comment to me the other day," Tolliver said Monday evening from Houston. "He said, 'If Adelman gets that coaching job, I'd ask for a trade.' I thought he was telling me I should ask for one. Then he said, 'No, no, I love him. I would ask for a trade to go play for him.' link [/rQUOTEr] I bet Morey tried to swap him for Rubio but Kahn said no...
This discussion is so far out in left field. Many great coaches, Pop comes immediately to mind, make it perfectly clear that it is their way or the highway. If you cannot fit into Pops system you are gone. If the Rockets have accumulated players that do not understand that, then they need to be shipped out ASAP. Ideally you excise cancers early and thoroughly and completely. I do know that McHale is not Pop. But IMHO NBA team coaching by committee would be totally unworkable. The players are being paid huge sums of money, and if that money goes to their heads and they begin to think they are the coaching staff, then they should become someone else's problem.
Somehow I just can't picture Lowry as Addleman's starting PG anytime in the future. Sorry Kyle. Maybe the Bobcat's are in your future.
I don't think the Rockets believed in Brooks as much as some on CF did. Brooks was supposedly dangled in two drafts as trade bait for a higher pick.
When its said and done, lowry is just gonna have to deal with mchale until they can trade him. I doubt they would do it,but id offer lowry for holiday and let dragic walk which is what he's gonna do anyway. If nothing else, josh smith for lowry, dalembert makes sense for both teams too. That would open up a trade of scola and martin or scola as a salary dump. Dragic is going to have greater options like utah, portland and maybe even nj if williams leave.
I dont know why Rockets fired Adelman. That's just a plain stupid move. I am still angry at Rockets for hiring McHale and then players didnt like him.
