Bingo! why did we hire this clown? i think somebody from management needs to go for doing this. He's no Rudy T. I'll keep Lowry .
if mcfail gets fired, and morey can resign goran , he will still be looking to trade kyle to improve the team, so at the end kyle may do us a favor by firing mcfail
Nothing like the whole "he's got heart" argument. I believe there are about 30 Steve Francis threads with the same oh-so-solid argument.
Do you really believe kyle lowry is in a tier of PGs below the likes of Jrue Holiday and Steph Curry? Before his infection, he was serious candidate at becoming an all star. I can confidently say that those 2 will never be all star game candidates. I'm not trying to be a homer and overvaluing lowry, but your rant on him seems pretty disrespectful IMO. He has every right to want out of Houston and I would be fine with that, since he can have a starting role somewhere else and play to the fullest.
Below Curry, definitely. Curry's stats when he was healthy were top notch. Above Jrue I'd say right now, but Jrue is younger and has good upside.
I think if you read between the lines, I think it's clear that Lowry doesn't want to do as much he did for the Rockets. He had the most productive season of his entire career, and for the first time in his career can be considered all-star caliber, and he feels like his coach is using him wrong. Usually you'd think players feel the opposite in such a situation. Watching games earlier in the season, it does seem like McHale/Morey really pushed Lowry to be someone who play hard defense and attack on offense. And that Lowry eventually either burned out mentally or physically. Either way, he seems to want to take a step back and conserve his energy a bit. However, Dragic flourished in a similar role. Although to be fair he is a somewhat lesser defender and a worse rebounder. Regardless, I'm more inclined to believe Lowry would regress if traded elsewhere. Because he's not going to play at 110% like he did early this season. OTOH, if Lowry can calm down, he can be a very good 6th man for the Rockets playing less minutes, but more quality minutes. However, he probably wants a starting gig where he can play more, put up better stats, but not have to put his effort everywhere on the court.
Everybody is not created equal. Spoiler Hamish: Some men are longer than others. Campbell: Your mother been telling ya stories about me again, eh?
I've been thinking that the whole year, the start of the season where he put up great numbers and was considered an all-star candidate will possibly be the best stats/run of his entire career when he's done.
McHALE is not getting fired. He was only signed to a 2 year deal I believe, he didn't have a full offseason to work with the roster he had, and have almost zero practice time. I think he deserves another year to prove himself before everyone starts asking for his head. Lowry had issues with him yes, but is this the first time Lowry has had issues with authority?.... not even close. What I see is Lowry getting butthurt because he was outplayed slightly by Dragic, and when he came back from injury I dont know why he would expect to have his starting position back right off the bat when he still wasnt 100% and the Rockets were rolling with Dragic at the helm. Its obvious that McHale is who Lowry blames all of this on, when he really should have taken a step back and looked at himself first as the one who controls the situation going forward. The thing that Lowry needs to realize is this. Alot of teams will have interest in him yes, and many of them will want to make him their starter. What he doesn't realize is how many of those teams, especially the better ones, that will realize how productive he was coming off the bench in his first few seasons, and how good he has been playing alongside other PG's in the past. Especially at the price he commands. Teams that know him know that as well. He might very well get traded to the likes of a team that puts him in a worse situation than the Rockets will next season. Also, the Rockets are just going to cut him and let him go for free. The team he goes to will have very high expectations given what they gave up to get him. He's going to be on the hot seat next year with wherever he might go. He's going to have alot he needs to prove.
So basically what you're saying is among starting point guards Lowry is just average? Yeah, I'm pretty sure average pgs get mentioned as possible all star candidates. Lowry is in the 2nd tier of pgs right below the franchise ones like Deron, CP3 and Wall. An argument can be made he's in the lower end of the spectrum but he IS there (along with Nash, Parker, Rondo, Irving and WB). Putting above average guys like Stephen Curry and Jrue Holiday over him is ridiculous, those guys can't defend like Lowry does.
I'm sure EVERY SINGLE PLAYER and EVERY SINGLE FAN agrees with Lowry that Mchale sucks. Management is just too stupid to realize this. I mean, Patterson and Scola every game is just terrible. I agree with Lowry and I would keep him and fire Mchale (if Dragic asks for too much) but alas, Alexander prefers the 14th pick.
Lowry is good and all, but there's no way I would put him the same category with Nash, Parker, Rondo, Westbrook, and even Irving. He's overrated at that point. All of those guys are fantastic playmakers, while Lowry is hardly a playmaker. He cannot pass as well as Nash and Rondo, while he cannot score as well as the other guys. Above average, but not that far above average. He'll never the kind of ceiling that those guys have hit. Even when he was playing at his best, Lowry did not make his team all that much better. The other point guards really push their teams over the top or elevate their team's overall performance. People are getting on my case about this, I do not think he's all that much better than Dragic, Lawson, or Lin.
Regardless of what he did statistically last year what sustains a players quality of work is a positive, driven attitude toward yourself, your coach and your teammates. Lowry is attacking his coach and his team by saying that he wants McHale out and that he cannot coexist with Dragic. I manage people and I can tell you that this type of behavior is selfish and dysfunctional beyond words. I have ZERO tolerance for snitching, back stabbing and any other disrespectful behavior between coworkers and from my employees towards me. He was hired by and is collecting a pay check from the Rockets organization and therefore is a representive of the organization until his contract with them is up. If I were Les, I would call that little SOB into my office and tell him that he won't see a minute on the floor until his contract is up and there is no chance of a trade. Don't show up to practice and don't step fit in the Toyota center again. You do NOT dictate how I run my company, I do! You have a problem with someone on the roster or the coach, you go to Morey to discuss it, then me. The fact that you told the media that you can't work with the team is unforgivable. It breaks down team morale, creates mutiny among the ranks and puts the team as a whole in jeopardy of being able to function. Lowry should have been moved last year when they found out he assaulted that female referee. I know they tried to make a deal happen but it didn't work out. Good news for all though, Goran Dragic will be back next year and Lowry will be moved out. That, you can be sure of.
If you think Kyle is better than a healthy Steph curry you're crazy.Curry is always hurt like Bynum was early, but when healthy you have a deadeye shooter who hits 90% at the line, someone who won't make you cringe like Kyle at the line late in a game. Steph is a monster. Jrue is too have you been watching the playoffs? Hes 21, yes 5 years younger than Kyle and oh he's 6'4 and has crazy athleticism wait till he develops and see where he is at 26....where was Kyle at 21?
You are on crack if Lowry is on par with tony Parker,Irving,Westbrook, or nash....tony Parker should have been MVP this year and WB is a 25 ppg machine who hits almost 90% at the line with unreal athleticism, and yea he's 22 not 26....Nash is old but you'd be dumb to not take him over Kyle....take off your homer goggles
I read that again and you are definitely on crack if you think John wall is tier 1 and tier 2 includes Nash,Parker,Westbrook, and Irving....wtf has John wall done other than be the number 1 pick...he's a horrible shooter and decision maker,he has potential to be more but no way is he on par with cp3 and deron....you just lost all credibility to me
