    Yup.

Definitely go back in a few days and get it checked out again. Either that or go a cardiologist to make sure it isn't anything serious.

How much does a trip to the ER cost you if you're uninsured?

For me when I went earlier this week it was $125 insured. So I would say with tests and all, it could range from $500-$1000 at least.

Schitte.... thank God I've never needed to go to a hospital.

I heard the amberlamps could cost more.

Stay away from physician owned hospitals. They will rip you apart.

Glad they said it wasn't a heart attack. Wish I could help you with what it is!! All the best, however!

Haha, spices won't give you a heart attack, detective cheetah. At any rate, I hadnt had anything spicy in a few days.

I asked the doc if he saw anything else on the X-ray. Negative, no tumahs.

I'm going to a different doc for a follow up Monday.

    Thanks for the kind words.

It could be just heartburn or malaria.

Have you ever had or been to a country with malaria? Doctors aren't familiar with it, wouldn't even cross their minds, and won't look for it.

Ghost peppers are not normal 'spices' -- Xerobull you played ghost pepper roulette with the Devil and lost.

Could be a precordial catch combined with GERD and anxiety about those symptoms; it can be difficult to tell what's psychosomatic or not. The precordial catches often made me think I was near a heart attack until I learned what they actually were.

You were reading the hottest ass thread?

2nd opinion, for sure. Sounds like something got temporarily clogged and maybe freed up ...which is more scary cause it could happen again.

Glad everything is ok on the initial results, and I'm glad you're going in for a followup on Monday. Hope everything tests normal. I hate when weird symptoms indicative of something serious like that crop up and they don't know why.

They thought my wife (36) was having a stroke last year, but it turned out to be weird symptoms (numbness on one side of her body) from a migraine. An emergency trip to the hospital and a few days there scared us half to death.

Looking forward to discussing A Red Country later this year with you, so make sure you stay healthy, sir!

This definitely sounds like an anxiety attack.

I had a very similar incident happen to me 5-6 months ago where I was driving to pick up my kids after work and I got sudden pain in my chest and my left arm went numb. By the time I got to the kids I was light headed and felt like I would feint. Went to the ER and everything came back fine but I was still in pain so I staid overnight to get monitored and have a cardiologist see me.

I am relatively young and in good shape, not overweight, so everybody was confused. But the nurses were funny because they were always saying about how I was so nice because my vitals were perfect and I didn't have nonstop complaints like most of their (sick) patients.

Ended up with a stress test and everything eventually and of course I was completely fine. Have not had anything similar since.

Also experienced something somewhat similar when I was 22.

Went to bed after watching some random football game. Tried to sleep, but for whatever reason my heart was going crazy. A few minutes later my whole body starts shaking. Got up and tried to walk it off for a few minutes. Nothing. My heart rate actually went up and the shaking got worse.

Drove to the ER. They did an EKG and told me I was having an anxiety attack. Gave me some kind of injection to calm down (Still took like 3 hours for me being able to sleep). The doctor at the time actually told me this happens quite often to 'young people'.

Anyway I'm doing quite well now. Hope the same for you. Best of luck!

A coworker of mine was having similar symptoms. They eventually narrowed it down to some issues with his thyroid gland. He is on medication now and hasn't had another incident.
