I had a long drive today so was spacing out about a zombie apcolypse. What do you think would really go down if there was one?

I think there would be way, way less left in the way of cities. Fires would consume a good chunk of them.

Also, the shelf life of gasoline is fairly short.

What kind of zombies would there be in this hypothetical apocalypse? Slow footed, fast? Any intelligence?

I dunno depends on HOW the virus gets around... if it's air borune like on walking dead we are screwed because most people wouldn't know about it and everyone would be killing each other...Idiots would be looting for no reason...(see hurricane katrina). I think the young generation would do well since we have tons of game and movies on it. Grab guns, food and a strong place to hid. Kill off the annoying kids and women.

Eh, whatever. No real intelligence, though, like some of the 'zombies' in video games. That's a hallmark of a zombie.

i read it everyday and there's like a mention to a zombie apocalypse in at least one article a day. Jacopo's my favorite because his historical stuff is always pretty cool to learn.

I'll check it out. I've only ever read it when it was linked from somewhere else.

Zombie apocalypse sounds very scary and an almost impossible situation to solve, but on the reality scale there are so many apocalyptic scenarios to worry about ... without going that far. Especially in the world with so many nuclear weapons, wars, depletion of particular natural resources, rapid weather/environmental changes, non-curable illnesses and cancers, and ... STDS (do you realize how many people in the world have incurable STDs that are very much transmittable). Take a look at particular impoverished African countries, not quite a zombie apocalypse, but very depressing in killing people slowly and still spreading rapidly - lack of proper medical care, ignorance (or myths of how to stop such disease), and not using proper birth control/protection.

Alot of it is about perspective, if you were in a country, like Iraq (during the height of the last three wars - Iraqi, Gulf, and Iran), Zimbabwe, Sudan, or the Congo. You would literally think you lived in Hell, itself. One thing about America, it's never been hit by large scale attack across the nation, luckily.

I'll know what to do after I watch how Brad Pitt handles it in the upcoming movie on the subject.

This thread reminds me that I need to start working on my cardio. Major cities would be death traps, unless you would be able to get to a military base? And even then, infected might get into the refugee camp or you might find someone that gets paranoid and offs the refugees to keep it from spread.

On top of the zombies, you have the opportunists that would go around killing/raping/looting.

Slow zombies wouldn't do a damn thing and would only kill some people initially who do not know what's going on. It cracks me up in tv shows/movies where there are only a few survivors left, but they are able to kill hordes of slow moving zombies.

Dawn of the Dead fast running zombies is a completely different animal.

I have three swords, a machete, two rifles, a shotgun, and a butt-load of ammo (for the rifles, anyway) and first-aid supplies.

    Come at me zombie bros.
