What is that annoying song they play on horns during opponent free throws. It's a popular car horn melody.

It looked to me like Prokom was totally uninterested for much of the game. They know they can win playing at half speed. Performances in these types of games are difficult to judge.

Dixie Land. Prokom was actually playing that on horns during free throws. Most annoying thing I've ever heard at a bball game, I think.

    Motiejunas:
"I'm not 100% sure that I will play in the NBA next season. I told them (Rockets) that if they don't see me playing I won't come.. I would rather join any strong Euroleague team and keep improving my skills. "Rockets" stated that they see me in their future plans, but I must to prove that I am worth it."
"My favorite player is Luis Scola."
"The only thing that would make me happy in the NBA is the MVP title. I also realise that in the rookie year it's impossible to win it"
"When i was a kid i always said that i want to be the best player in the world. People laughed at me then. Now they are doing the same thing. They are saying that I'm stupid. Why I can't try to be the best? Nobody can say that i'm stupid, because i'm trying."

^ ie. He's not coming over if we're just going to bench him or send him to D-League and who could blame him. I think the only way he comes over this year is if we unload Scola or Patterson for a non-PF or both for a PF. And if we draft a decent PF that deserves immediate time...

If he stays 2 more years in Europe he is not bound by the NBA's salary cap and can sign a much bigger contract.

I don't think it is a given he is over...I think the Rockets want him but he will make the call, and I am sure his agent knows it would be better to stay in Europe.

Staying in Europe would be terri-awful. He is not going to improve there at rate he could in NBA.

I wonder if that's more of his agent speaking than him.

He won't improve sitting on the Rockets bench either....to me you can listen to all the BS that Morey says, or his agent, and then follow the money tree.

If he can make the same money and not be locked in to a cheap rookie scale contract by staying 2 years it makes more sense.

Why settle for 20th pick money, when you can get MLE or near MLE money in a couple of years by waiting?

Unless he is Jonesing to come over, I think he might stay.

If he doesn't come over next season, that would mess up a lot of planning.

It is not up to the Rockets, it is entirely up to him.

The chances of him being relegated to the bench are very, very slim. People should get that out of their heads now.

Can't help if the Rockets draft scouting sucks.

I agree 100% DD. It is his call. But it depends on a lot of factors. I doubt he is making any real money playing for Prokom. Their games are played in high school gyms. Can he join a club like Barcelona that has a lot of money? Even then would he make anywhere near his rookie scale salary? And after the third year can't the rockets resign him to a big money contract if he deserves it? What if he stays and gets injured badly?

Over here the Rockets can clear the way for him. Making sure he steps into the rotation right off would be an important first step.

Also he projects himself as an NBA center. The rockets probably feel the same way. He went from 215 pounds at the rookie workout to 240 pounds at the start of the Euro season. How long would it take him to get to 270 pounds and banging away every game at the 5? If he can make that transition (and being in the Rockets organization would certainly speed the process) really big $ awaits him when he comes off his rookie scale.

I know you have seen the clips and the games. You probably agree with me that his offensive skill set for the 5 is unparalleled in any NBA draft since - Yao maybe? Do you think the rockets would buy out Dally and have him back up Camby for a year? All he needs is the weight and tutelage on NBA defensive schemes.

Too much potential for the Rockets to ever risk him pulling a Llull.

    Looking forward to other's thoughts.

I don't know where you heard that he projects himself as a center, but I can assure you that he sees himself as a true PF.

Did you watch the post draft press conference with Morris and Parsons? Functioning only from memory he was asked how he felt about playing center against a beast like Howard. He replied that Howard could try to catch him on the floor. Poor memory for the specifics but that was the gist of it. And I believe that in at least one other interview he said that he viewed himself as an NBA center.

The point was about money and why he would sign here when he can make more by staying in Europe for 2 years.

It was countered by CBadlee saying he would not be on the bench, I was proving that is no guarantee of anything.

You jumped in totally missing the boat, and I am tossing you a life preserver.
