Obviously GZ should have waited to lose consciousness before finding a better way to defend his life........

Somewhere I think I read that Zimmerman stated that he only pulled the gun after Trayvon had spotted it in their close encounter. Don't know if that means that Trayvon was making a move for it or what..... People are overlooking the obvious that GZ could have just pulled out the gun and gotten this encounter over with.... if that was him ambition.

How can you possibly know who was in better shape?

Are you stupid or something? Nevermind. Disregard that question. I know the answer.

There's plenty of things GZ could've done instead of shooting TM. If TM was beating him up, then at the very least, he should've started screaming for help. After all, that's a very basic reaction, right? In fact, the neighbors did hear screams....they just weren't coming from GZ.

You've got a wanna be cop- to the extent he does ride alongs and is disappointed to learn real cops aren't constantly acting like the 24/7 T.J Hooker/Law and Order rerun going through his tiny mind.

He gets into trouble because of his "Thinks he is Clint Eastwood, is really Francesca" attitude and daddy the former judge gets him out of the worst of it.

If it hadn't been Trayvon Martin it would have been someone else, because this gnat was 'itchin to prove what a big hero he was.

So he schmoozes his way into a neighborhood watch "Captaincy" and he gets high on adrenaline and psych meds and stalks some kid. The kid gets the better of him (probably a 7 or 8 year old girl would have too). And the second he starts to lose, he puts a bullet into the kid's heart.

But never fear, a lot of guys have a LOT of empathy for physical cowards, especially against those of dark hued skin. So we are gonna get 300 pages of apologists defending the Zimmer "man".

What Zimmer "man" will get is prison time, hopefully lots, and lots of it. Because make no mistake, if he is slapped on the wrist he will do this kind of thing again.

It's very relevant what the dispatcher said no matter what zimmerman apprehension what at the time he murdered martin was if he had just not followed and waited for the cops we wouldnt be have these debates.
The answer too ? 2 is yes he's following him for no reason so zimmerman should be found guilty.

    He did scream for help.

Anyone saying he should have pulled his gun to end it is in fantasy land. If you pull a gun without a reason to shoot it, it is brandishing and unless you are a 90 pound girl it is illegal.

That logic is faulty and not based upon any legal definition.

    IOW, you're making stuff up

Can you clarify your last sentence? That's exactly what gz did. He pulled out the gun and ended encounter.

The defense will simply show the medical records that show he had 2 black eyes, a broken nose, and lacerations to the back of the head. I really don't see how a family doctor's record could be credible, but if they took pictures that would be sufficient enough to put doubt in the jurors mind.
Is the full medical report available to the public? Those injuries don't develop overnight, unless his wife beat him for killing a kid. So the medical report would have to say the same thing, or that doc's exam in a crock.

Also a few punches isn't what the claim, nor evidence suggests. If he was being punched into the concrete that is reasonable fear of life. Ever seen someone's head bounce off of concrete? I have. Went right into a seizure in front of my eyes.

BTW, been absent from the case a bit, I may have missed a crucial evidence piece. So if the full medical report was released and it does not resemble the family doc's, I think it's fair to say he will have a harder time with his case.

I am not black, but if someone is following me and confront me. I will beat him down just like Trayvon Martin.

The police told Zimmerman not to follow that guy and let the police take over. He did not listen. Zimmerman fully deserve that murder charge, no less.

Zimmerman is defending self or not should not even be in question, obviously he was the one confronting a stranger, not the other way around.

It's so funny to see people can take stand on Zimmerman's side at all.

I hope no one thinks this was the best decision. It clearly ended up being the worst decision. However, it appears he has a legitimate defense, however his negligence ended up with the death of TM - charge him with criminally negligent homicide and you have an easy conviction.

    IMO

Because that's not how the law works. Confronting someone is not enough to justify murder. Had TM confronted ZM it wouldn't be justified either. However, GZ's claim is that he was thrown against the concrete and he had his head slammed into the concrete. IF the evidence doesn't contradict his claim how can you be so sure of a murder charge.

What are you talking about? What was the worst decision? As far as I know, GZ didn't scream. The various 911 recordings had screams, but experts have concluded that they didn't come from GZ.

Disagree. If TM confronted GZ, you have to consider his most probable state of mind. You have a 17 year old man in an unfamiliar area who saw GZ (a stranger) sitting in his car, talking on the phone, and staring at him. That obviously unnerved TM b/c he fled. And then, he encountered GZ on foot. As far as TM knows, GZ could've been trying to abduct him.

And if TM legitimately feared for his safety, he would've been legally justified in throwing the first punch.

I think the evidence has already contradicted GZ's claim that his head was slammed into the concrete.

    1. Had GZ's head been slammed into the concrete, he'd have more than a few scratches.

    2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but TM's body was not found near concrete. And since he was shot at close range, that means GZ wasn't near concrete at the time of the shooting.

At places in this thread, people have suggested that GZ "hunted Martin down." He had his eyes on TM for quite a long time and if his intention had been a thrill kill of some sort he would have not called 911 or terminated the call earlier with 911 and done the killing. He didn't.

From all indications, the weapon only appeared when GZ was clearly losing the hand to hand struggle and suffered injuries to his face and head and felt desperate.

The decision to follow Martin in the first place was the worst decision. Experts have already testified that they can not determine who was screaming. The "experts" who claim otherwise are irrelevant as they will not be in court.

Why do you have to consider TM's state of mind and not GZ's?

I know you WANT GZ to be guilty, but it doesn't change the evidence. GZ will not be found guilty. There is no evidence to support the murder charge.

Also, I said if TM threw the first punch it wouldn't have mattered. The question is not who started the fight per se, because you have absolutely no true witnesses who can testify on that account. The question is whether or not Zimmerman had reasonable reason to fear for his life. You can't prove it either way, so you can't convict him.

I believe he was feet from the concrete. I saw a picture of TM's belongings right next to the sidewalk.

Stop reaching for evidence. There is none to support the murder charge.
