Indeed, it is a conspiracy. Screamin' A. Smith is not somebody I want on my side of an argument. Acting like he was going for the ball? As opposed to Wade going down to the floor like a sniper in the rafters of the American Airlines Center had just greased him? The jury has rendered their verdict, your opinion is the extreme minority. Sorry.
You are absolutely correct. Block and excessive follow-through. Textbook definition of a flagrant 1 foul: "A flagrant 1 is unnecessary contact. This is usually when a defensive player swings and makes hard contact with the offensive player or makes hard contact and then follows through."
No way Hansborough should have got suspended. The so called "raking with his hand follow through" wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. The Pacers aren't a dirty team and haven't been all season, but they will not back down to the dirty, classless Heat.
When Haslem took out Hansbrough the game was close. When Lebron took out Granger with the Bruce Bowen "slide your foot under him" move, it was even closer (40-38 I believe). After the refs decided the Heart could get away with that crap, the Pacers started settling for 3-pointers and shying away from contact, which was a stupid reaction to the thug ball on their part, so they are not blameless, as Larry Bird pointed out. Could they have won? I don't know, and you don't either. I don't fault the Heat, actually, for being aware of what they can get away with. Watch Battier flop 20 times tonight. If 3 of them get called, his flopping was a huge success.
Referencing Steven A Smith TWICE? Does this mean you can't find anyone else to support your opinion? And that one of the most empty-minded, yet overly-opinionated, sports personalities is the cornerstone of your argument?
OK this is where you lose all credibility. If you think Lebron did that intentionally, then you need to have your head examined. You are losing it bro. Melting down.
In game 5, the thuggary started with Hansboro. The Heat retaliated with Haslem. At that point it was even thugary. After the game was out of reach, the Heat had 1 more thug play. So it was 2 thug plays vs 1 thug play. It did not decide the game in any way shape or form. The mere suggestion the Lebron intentionally twisted Granger's ankle is weak. The pacers were, are, and still are under matched against this heat team even without Bosh and now you're just making excuses for them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7w-gissMiE Lebron slides the left foot right under the jumpshooter, just like Bruce used to do, then spins and runs down court. It was lucky for him that Danny landed on his foot, but do that 5 times and yes, odds are you can effectively take a guy out.
He's honest and calls it like it is. And he's usually Miami's biggest critic, so it's not like he's siding with them on this. Hansboro's foul was malicious. It started the thuggary in this game.
Thanks for that video. It shows that Lebron did nothing there intentionally and you know it. Even lame youtube commenters are on my side here. Come on man, get real.
To be completely honest, I don't care about Hansboro, Haslem, or Pittman. What I care about is Lebron had a 40-18-9 game on Indian's home court and the Heat then blew out the Pacers by 30 in the next game and all you guys jumped off the Indiana bandwagon and came back to reality. Now we're making excuses as to why the pacers are down 3-2. My my how things change.
So you agree that it was a true flagrant foul. So, you agree that this started the thuggary in game 5. Yet you say in started in game 2 with Wade's body check. There was no thuggary in games 3 or 4, so if it started in game 2, then why did they all wait until game 5 retaliate?
The retaliation in games 3 and 4 consisted of Lebron throwing elbows, Wade slapping at the basketball after plays were over, and Granger talking too much trash. Hansbrough did not retaliate. He just made a playoff foul. Haslem retaliated. Pittman retaliated. This isn't hard. Use your eyes, use your brain, and you will be fine.
It's actually refreshing to see even the youtube commenters on those videos appear to be more rational than all the Miami Heat haters on this very bbs. And this is a basketball forum. Who would have thought. Put Lebron and Wade on the Rockets and the tune would change around here, BIG TIME.
You are just pouting. You seem like a sore loser. Your guys got beat up and down the basketball court by a better basketball team. Accept it and move on. Good luck tonight. I don't get the feeling you are as confident as you were after game 3. You seem to be preparing to make excuses.
There are LOTS of bandwagon fair weather Lebron fans. Anywhere you turn you will never be alone. They are certainly a bit rarer in forums of non-thug teams of of teams, or for teams who haven't adopted the buy-a-superstar model.
SacTown trolling hard again. He fits the typical douchebag bandwagon heat fan. It's disgusting really.
Which is harder, winning 2 games in 4 attempts or 2 games in 2 attempts? Of course the first is harder. There is no margin for error now. A few Heat flops that fool the refs could decide everything. Homer refs in game 7 could decide it. Keep saying it to yourself NutSacTown: "Use my eyes, use my brain; Use my eyes, use my brain; Use my eyes, use my brain" You can do it. There is hope.
