Jessica probably wouldn't have made it past the first cut on the Voice. Truth. She's too young to be on this show. She has very impressive raw talent but she should have spent a few more years developing before throwing herself into the fray. She has very good pipes for her age but still isn't as smooth as she could be. Put her beside a real vocalist like Jennifer Hudson (or even Christina Aguilera) and you can clearly tell the difference. Unfortunately the music industry is probably going to ruin her now before she has a chance to mature. Phillips had this thing won a long time ago. That guy is ready, and he's going to be a very big star.
It always has been. When america chooses the winner they are not picking based on full talent. They are going to pick on who they like. At the end of the day the music industry is that way already. Of course they are going to let the one who gets the most votes win so that it's easier to sell a ton of records. Or at least get a good head start.
disagree, not because she's that good, but because the talent on the voice is 99% laughable and embarrassing. i think the top 10 on idol would have all won the voice easily.
first off everyone on the voice would not even make the final cut on idol. They put her with a grammy winning vocalist, Jennifer Holliday and KILLED it... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-n_ux-eqrtQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Man I love when Jennifer Holliday does duets! She really tries to steal that spotlight, it's hilarious.
Some of those facial expressions that Jennifer Holiday lady was making during that duet almost scared me to death. For a second, I thought I was watching the grossest thing I had ever seen. I guess that is what is required for her to hit those notes but, damn, that was scary at times.
