I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that I'm 150% sure that Dwight will be traded. Do it Maury!

No, I am hoping that he does not end up with the Lakers. I am thinking that he does not want to play with Kobe because he is not going to see the ball much. But again you never know what Howard is thinking, he is a idiot.

How many times has Bynum been kept out of Howard (et al) talks due to Buss The Younger's infatuation thereof? Maybe this time he'll relent? If so, at what price extracted?

If I'm Oh!lando (and I s'pose I ain't) I'd deal HoHo with as many bad contracts wherever possible then move forward.

Broussard says Jimmy Buss would rather keep Bynum than trade him for Duhwhite.

I can't say it's absolutely a no that they would trade him because Dwight is the guy out there available but I believe Jim Buss at this point would rather keep Bynum than trade him. He did close the gap significantly between him and Dwight. Still not as good but he showed he can dominate games. He has to be more consistent and more mature but I believe Jim Buss is definitely in his corner.

I know we are in no position to be picky about a superstar, but I have some serious reservations about Howard after this season. The whole fiasco with SVG and his maturity level (and his ultimate desire to win vs get paid and have fun) not to mention his injury situation.

Say what you want about T-mac, but he embraced the Rockets and he wanted to win first and foremost. I don't know if we'd see the same with Howard -- obviously he wants to win titles, but it just seems secondary to him at this point. I wish there were more superstars like Durant who just STFU and played hard and weren't so worried about what city they were going to play in.

well my biggest reservation is dwight coming here after morey gives him 50% of our roster and picks then he leaves next summer…

different sport i know, but Houston doesn't have a great track record with Rental guys in the last year of their contract..

Randy Johnson came to Houston and went 10-0 in his starts before the playoffs and still threw out of his mind in the playoffs but was outdone by kevin brown.. we had young guys too in bags and biggio, but he still left.

same with Beltran.. had the best performance of his career IN HOUSTON. still wasn't enough and he bolted for NY..

if us giving up everything for half a season with dwight for him to leave is not worth it AT ALL!..

DH12 IMHO wants to create and develop his 'brand' for a worldwide stage. The Rox would need a Yao assist in facilitating a major Asian success; perhaps even get Lin signed as a b/u to Dragic, with lotsa small ball ops for boths' minutes.

Really? We would have one season to try and win it all. If we win GREAT. If he stays and we win, GREAT. If we lose and he stays, GREAT (more years with him). If we lose and he leaves, we get to finally tank and get a higher pick like many people want

Actually no, because in deals like these they want at least 2 years worth of our first round picks plus players.. and to be honest we would have to give them that because our current roster has NOTHING that the magic would want. They would do it kn owing Dwight isn 't gonna stay with us and knowing they would have our decent young guys plus 2 future first rounders..

rentals never work out.. especially here in houston

I agree that rentals never work out but the Rockets have a precious commodity in today's NBA - available cap space. With the punitive luxury tax hitting in 2014/2015 teams are going to be sweating bullets. If I remember correctly the luxury tax was the main reason that Cuban blew up last years champions. And the Rockets can package inexpensive young role players (or a great prospect and possible star in Motiejunas, but I would cry), draft picks and cap space for a major talent. Hey, as they say you never know.

But I have this picture in my head of Morey, his hands clasp behind his head, leaning back in his leather office chair just chortling.

You're self-delusional on multiple fronts. There was an L-Tax in the last CBA...Cuban didn't blow anything up..."blowing things up" would have meant Cuban wouldn't have acquired Odom.

Further, if a big-time star makes ~$19M, you're not going to get there with 4 $4m contracts....no team is going to give up a Dwight or Gasol for Parsons + Patterson + Morris + (fill-in the blank). And draft picks have no trade value until signed.

And further, $19M is more cap space than the Rockets have as long as Kevin Martin is a Rocket.

But you're biggest delusion is the image of Morey. It would be more like wringing his hands and sweating bullets as the more and more of the hard-core fan base becomes impatient with the lack of success (ie...#14 Lotto picks).

Before calling someone delusional, I suggest you at least get your facts straight. Here, do some reading so you don't come off as an ignorant ass.

I refer to posts like this as stinky little mental farts. If the Rockets were willing to package Motiejunas, Parsons, Lowry, PPat Lee, and their 2 draft picks I think Orlando would be all over that. That would also save them $3+ million in cap. Of course the Rockets would have a really bleak future after that trade.

Draft picks have a huge value before signed. Try to think of how much it would take to get the # 4 draft this year. Whatever you think it is not enough.

And before you pooh-pooh the effect of the luxury tax for the 2014 - 2015 season you should have some idea of the subject matter. For starters I would recommended

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=219716

There is somewhere on this site a copy of Cuban's analysis of the effect of the new luxury tax on his management of the Mavs. $20 million over the cap now is $20 million. Under the new luxury cap (dependent on 2 factors) it would range from $66 million to $84 million in tax.

So not one thing you said in that post even close to accurate. It was because you were trolling or ignorant or just plain stupid.

Astros weren't paying RJ what he wanted; Zona was.

    Beltran was all Boras.
