This is why Morey is right about wanting a superstar

Morey wants a superstar (or two) because he knows that's what it takes to win. You are watching L. James and D. Wade beat a well rounded complete pacers team all by themselves. It's 2 on 5 and the pacers are getting blown out. The pacers are deeper, have better coaching, have more size, but the superstars are prevailing.

That, my friends is why Morey is right about wanting a superstar on the Rockets. That's how you win in the NBA. The proof is in the pudding.

I've always known it but there are posts on this very bbs that say Morey should build a deep team similar to the pacers (after that game 3 pacers win against miami)

Elaborate..... and discuss acquiring established stars vs grooming your own young superstar

If only it was that easy to obtain 2 players that are top 5 talent. And no Gasol isn't a superstar.

    Good job stating the obvious...

Yet half the posters on this BBS are against tanking and potentially drafting a superstar. Maybe its not that obvious LOL

Well, you need your fair share of superstars, but you are also going to need some depth. Make no mistake about it, the Heat can do this to a team as young as the Pacers, but they wouldn't be able to take down the Spurs nearly as easily. Matter of fact, I think they are gonna need Bosh to take down a team like the Spurs. I'm not even sure they could take out the Thunder without Bosh. If you don't have three superstar caliber players like the Heat, you are still gonna need to surround your two stars with a pretty competent cast.

    http://espn.go.com/blog/playbook/fandom/post/_/id/2884/what-are-nba-stars-reading-these-dayshttp://

LeBron James was spotted reading "The Hunger Games" recently, which made us wonder what books other NBA figures are reading. Here are our best guesses:

Kevin Durant: “Oh! The Places You'll Go!”

Metta World Peace: Sun Tzu's “The Art of War”

San Antonio Spurs: “100 Things to Do Before You Die”

Erik Spoelstra: “The Last Season: A Team in Search of Its Soul” by Phil Jackson

Kevin Garnett: “Ageless Body, Timeless Mind” by Deepak Chopra

    Blake Griffin: “The Tipping Point”

Derrick Rose: “A Series of Unfortunate Events”

Eddy Curry: “Who Moved My Cheese?”

Larry Bird: “Fifty Shades of Grey”

    Chris Bosh: “Jurassic Park”

Tyler Hansbrough: “Through My Eyes” by Tim Tebow

Charles Barkley: “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”

Pau Gasol: “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”

Kobe Bryant: “Go the F*** to Sleep”

lebron and wade are booty buddies and it's obvious wade gets top. When asked if he would go to cleveland to join bron bron, he laughed and said no way man.

It's not easy getting just one.

No. Gasol is not a superstar, but he'd be a strong addition down low to go along with our superstar and it's very risky to groom a superstar because you just never know. Better to get an established guy. 5 star thread, come on guys.

It'd be nice if a LeBron James could pair with the Dwayne Wade already on your team, while a versatile Chris Bosh also joins.

    Sadly, that isn't the case.
