then they can stick it. because i don't think they matter one iota to this team rebuilding i could understand trading them (though i'm in no way interested in adding Pau mother falcon Gasol for $19 million/year).... but if they want more than that??? NO WAY!
Why are you yelling at the Lakers for something that I am speculating? And really, you would let a 14th pick, a Budinger or Marcus Morris be a deal breaker?
Bryant has been on a mission to prove he's not washed up and has refused to pass the ball into the post most of the year in favor of chucking like crazy. Mike Brown can't do anything about that. The FO deserves blame for dumping Odom for nothing and alienating Gasol with all the near trades. I would still take Gasol b/c it would improve the team and he would be a better trade asset than what we had before the trade.
I would rather take Scola's heart and hustle over a $19 million dollar softie who doesn't want to be here.
Lee Jenkins @SI_LeeJenkins @SI_ChrisBallard Yes...I'm sure Gasol will get traded. McHale would use him better
Wasn't there a report that Adelman was also interested in Gasol? I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in Minnesota to be paired up with Rubio.
And why not? If we get him for cheap then we are more attractive to free agents like Dragic and Howard.
I don't think Lowry or Scola would be part of a Howard trade, since Orlando already has Jameer Nelson and Ryan Anderson. So unless either one is paramount to a Dwight Howard trade, I'd give those up for Gasol. Also, trading for Gasol may make Dwight Howard more amicable to a trade to Houston. If the Rockets give up something like Parsons, Dalembert(salary), KMart, Patterson, 14th and 16th pick, perhaps a future pick for Dwight Howard and Turgolu, that would be a nice core. Dragic, Lee, Gasol, Howard, Turgolu, DMo, Morris, maybe resign Camby, and we have ourselves a contender. Yes, an unlikely scenario, but could work if LA will trade Gasol for Scola/Lowry.
So does Gasol's value diminish even further due to the fact that his salary increases, he's older, and because of the Lakers' cap situation in 13-14 season?
Yes. But I dont think Morey goes for him unless he is confident of a follow up move to pair him with a superstar.
