    Pray that your city is not run by these kinds of morons who think that having overnight construction on a subway line that runs through residential neighborhoods ABOVE ground is a damn good and smart idea, especially when that construction includes hours of drilling, jackhammering, etc. I just took this recording about 20 minutes ago which is 12:30AM my time. This has been going on from 6pm until 5am in the morning for the past few days. That cloud you see is the dust from the mega jackhammer that they are using. This is literally 20 feet from my backyard. at 12:30 AM. I have not had a decent sleep in 3 effing days. I want to goto every single moron who planned this and just play the audio portion of this video on 20 loudspeakers in their backyard for 8 hours until the dawn and see how they like it. :mad:

    Actually the fast-track program of doing heavy duty construction late at night inq quick bursts has been a huge success; it's either that or just shut the whole line down during times when people need to use it; sorry but the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, bud.

    it's called "mass" transit for a reason.

    and I'm the last person to rag on New York City. I left Manhattan for California kicking and screaming and don't miss living there one bit. it's still far from a 'hole" or a 'POS'. you have to put up with the harshest living conditions and people for that matter. it does indeed make you a hardened person.

    Add me to the list of people that lived in NYC, loved it, left, thought I'd miss it like crazy but don't, at all.

    Whenever I return I'm reminded of what I loved about the place, but so much of what I loved simply is not there anymore.

    Also lived in NYC-Manhattan...sometimes find myself missing it.
    My memories get balanced out remembering the stress, and everyone living on top of each other.
