Lebron james has done something no one has done for 50 years and Skip just hates. Hopefully some haters take a step back so they don't turn into skip.
Out of curiousity, if LeBron had gotten that triple-double, how would it have rated among all-time playoff triple doubles? 40-18-10 is insane..
From my analysis of the game... it was LeBron's aggressiveness in the first half that kept this game from becoming another blowout. After that it only took Wade a few buckets to get his confidence back and then all hell broke loose. I think Heat will win this series now.
The truth is that the Heat need both Lebron and Wade to play at a very high level to win against elite teams. If they had Bosh it would have been easier. This also says something about how bad their role players have played. It does not bode well when the Heat play the elite from the West in the Finals.
For all the people who think Wade took over in the 2nd half with his 22 points, Lebron had 21 points, 13 boards, and 4 dimes in the 2nd half ALONE. Lebron will be Lebron. I think he knows it's his team now. His production will always be there. But they need Wade to do his usual thing, which is 25, 5, 5 on efficient shooting. He provided that tonight. Yup. Skip bayless is for laughs. I don't think anyone takes him seriously but Tebow fans.
Lebron is good for 3 quarters but yes come closing time its up to Wade and role players. Udonis came thru big in the 4th knocking down all those open jumpers. When its the 4th quarter Lebron has shown he prefers to pass over taking it hard to the rim. It's a symbiotic relationship though. Let Lebron carry them for most of the game so they can conserve energy for the 4th. Need both to succeed, both are crucial.
Lebron has closed more games this year than Wade just an FYI. Outside of CP3 and Durant, Lebron has been the best player in the 4th quarter in the reg. season. And before game 3 v. the Pacers, Lebron led the playoffs in 4th quarter scoring. I think last year's Finals really changed perception of Lebron, who's highly successful in the 4th outside of that Finals v. the Mavs.
When you choke on the biggest stage under the biggest microscope, yes, its gonna change people's perception of you. And yes, he's good in reg. season 4ths, but rarely in playoffs since he joined the Heat. vs. Bulls was his most dominant series last year but that's about it.
That's fine. We're not at the biggest stage yet. So to say Lebron is good for 3 quarters like it's a common thing is a myth. When Miami makes it to the Finals, you can make that claim. I guess you did not see the Boston's series. In game 4, he made a tying 3, and then another tying basket to force OT. In game 5, he scored the last 10 points to win the game for the Heat when they were down 5. And it's good you remember the Bulls series.
They did. Last Year. Lebron shrunk in all games in the 4th. Not just once, or twice, but all the games they played in the Finals. And I hope u realize playing the creaky Celtics in the 2nd round is not equivalent to the Finals. A measure of a clutch player is how he steps up as the stakes and pressure gets higher. Are you going to deny that Lebron shrunk in the Finals last year? Was Marion or whoever guarding him that beastly and locked him down that hard?
Below for sure. Rondo's Triple Double is a near Triple Double Double (or whatever the analysts were calling it when he got it) which would be A triple double twice (since 20 is 10x2). Rondo being a pg and grabbing those boards is crazy. I believe Rondo is the Jason Kidd of his time and may perhaps surpass his legend if his careers stays on track (hard to see it staying with KG, PP, and Shuttlesworth leaving soon).
Agree with lalala & LCII. They need both playing at a high level. I may be wrong but they probably lose if Wade ****s the bed again today. So yeah, 40, 18 and whatever is nice but they need both playing at a high level to win and a few contributions from the bench doesn't hurt either.
Did you read my post or not? I said he choked in the biggest stage, which was the Finals. We're nowhere close to there yet, and outside of the Finals, he's proven he can close. But your assertion that he's a "3-quarter" player is like it's a fact, which is false. He did that v. the celtics in round 2. And did it again v. the Bulls in round 3. And did it v. the Knicks in round 1 this year. And did it again in game 1 v. the Pacers. We'll revisit his choking ways if the Heat does indeed make it to the finals. But before the Finals, he's one of the best closers that we have statistically.
