West killed the Pacers--- he is usually very consistent, dependable, and anything but soft. His fouls and Hibbert's fouls totally changed this game. Hansbrough picked up West in the 1st half but did NOTHING in the 2nd. Two travels by not catching the ball cleanly, while open in the lane? Cannot happen.
You make a good point, but they won by almost double digits. The Heat could have had a worse performance and still won. The Pacers got comfortable too quickly. They definitely need more discipline.
I don't go annoying the **** out of everybody and make an ass out of myself every time I make stupid homer predictions, while proclaiming a player as the best thing ever.
I second this question. Sigging your own quote (and then quoting your own sig) is a little on the goober side. LOL. Classic...
Defending him? I'm still wondering why you're criticizing him in the first place. I can't remember the "NSAS" article vividly, but I'm pretty sure he didn't get all the credit for his teams winning, and none for his teams losing. He DID play with Gasol in Memphis, and Yao/Tracy in Houston. Pretty sure those guys got the credit and blame. I keep saying this, but you don't seem to be grasping the concept that Battier wasn't brought in for his offensive prowess. He's not being paid money to put up numbers. He's being paid to keep players on the other team, from getting theirs. Show me a media article that hypes Battier, or overrates him, for that matter. And outplayed by a person who isn't in the league anymore. That's your strongest argument as to why Battier is this "supposed" trash player? Outplayed how? Did Harpring get more points? Did he get more rebounds? I don't get the comparison here. Finally, I should be ashamed for trying to weakly defend him? Don't insert your snide, b****-ass comments about how I'm "weakly" defending him, when the best you can come up with is Matt Harpring. Battier isn't out there, overvaluing himself, or wanting more money and more publicity, so I really don't get your hate towards him. The guy didn't mass murder people. The guy didn't commit adultery, or anything bad. Unless he did something to you personally, then there should be a lot more people you should be criticizing, as Battier is better than a whole slew of NBA players. Go on a rant about those guys. "smh."
Don't care to defend Shane. He's not worth that anymore. was just saying that you don't like the dude. Thought I was going to defend his ass? I will say this: **** Rudy Gay, as well. Ball stopping ass players get no love either. 3rd best player on a playoff team.
Last I checked the series was even 2-2 and the Heat have been outplayed for the majority of the series. The Heat even if they manage to win this series don't look like a championship team and this was after people said they had a cakewalk when Derrick Rose went down. Haslem stepped up today but he's looked old until tonight. If they have to depend on Lebron and Dwade scoring all the points for the remainder of the series/playoffs they're in trouble. Exhaustion or injuries will happen.
You guys played "great" for a half and was only up by 8 to a team that had one player going. The Heat only played well for a half to beat you guys. What I think the Pacers have to do to have a chance are: 1) get the heat in foul trouble. Use the bigs to get in the penalty early. The Pacers won't be able to score as well in Miami as they have in Indy. That is HUGE. You had the Heat in the penalty with 7 minutes left in the 3rd, which could have helped you guys withstand Miami's surge, but the perimeter guys kept dribbling and dribbling. But you could attribute that to Miami's great rotation 2) Collison has to play more. Hill is simply a shooter in this series, and he has made some very timely shots. But Collison's speed is just insane. He runs circles around Chalmers/Cole. They need to play him more to exploit that. 3) How to defend the high pick and roll on Wade. The Heat adjusted and didn't put Wade in the post as much as he has struggled down there. He went exclusively to the pick and roll and George had a ton of trouble going around the screens, which seems to be a weakness of his. 4) Deny the post from Lebron. Dude got a bunch of gimmes down there. You guys have to be fortunate the Heat's role players have sucked so bad. They will bust out ONE of these remaining games, esp. with 2 home games remaining (if it goes 7), just like how the Pacers' role players busted out in game 3. But I enjoy the physicality of this series. It appears the Heat took them way too lightly, and I didn't see the urgency in the Heat until this game. Even when they were down 9 early in quarter 1, you knew how badly they wanted this game just by their mannerisms. The Pacers definitely got the Heat's attention now.
