Why would you want Granger? He's basically a jumpshooter (and not even a great one at that) and drives once every 7-8 possessions. He's basically a worse version of Kevin Martin on offense with defense.
We all have our favorites. I think its no longer able to happen anyways. I would like someone like Granger. Athletic SF, big, can shoot three, score, do other things pretty well. Its the NBA prototype now. Granger Lebron Durant Igoudala Kawhi Leonard Pippen back in the day Carmelo I like to find things that are themes for successful players and teams. Things that have common correlations with wins and losses.
Lebron and Wade have to score 70 points, and the Heat have to win the boards, for their team to win a game. I still don't expect to see that happen two more times. Pacers fell too much in love with the 3, especially in the 3rd Q. game ball to Haslem, the only non-turd on the team
Lebron must be saying to himself, "Wtf was I thinking wanting this scrub on the team?!" That tip layup brick just made me smh. For a guy who's supposed to be such a "smart player," you'd think he would realize that he should just bring that ball down and secure the rebound given the situation and how unathletic he is. What a garbage player and I have to disagree, he was trash on the Rockets too. I guess you missed the 12 page "no-stats all-star" propaganda piece in the ny times where the author gave all the credit to Battier for his teams winning, but no blame for them ever losing. He's always been nothing more than an overrated, overpaid, and overhyped scrub. The only thing he is good at is pr. Now after all the bs has faded, people are seeing him for what he is: another piece of garbage that Lebron has to carry on his shoulders Rockets had their version of Granger who fell into their laps in Rudy Gay, who had the added benefit of being a closer as well, which is a skill Granger doesn't possess, but as you know, they traded him away for some cheap glue that didn't even stick.

No, I didn't miss it. I agreed with that particular viewpoint. Why would anyone blame Battier for his team losing? Again, he isn't some offensive player known to chuck the ball, or failing in crunchtime, or being a crappy offensive player overall. He wasn't brought to the Rockets, nor Miami for his offense. Who is overrating him? Who is overhyping him? How much is he being paid? Battier isn't Rashard Lewis or Gilbert Arenas - someone who teams pinned a ridiculous contract on, who ultimately failed at producing. Battier is what he is - a role player on a team. Not an offensive dynamo that's asked or paid to give 25/10 a night.

Instead of commenting about me, why don't you share your thoughts on Battier being an absolute no-show for the Heat this series? If you give him all the credit for his teams winning, he has to get blame for them losing. If not, it's just bs propaganda. Who is overrating him? The media, the majority of clutchfans always overrated him, and Rockets' management. How much is he being paid? Whatever it was, it is, and will be in the future is entirely too much. He's not even a role player... He's a scrub. He was outplayed by Matt Harpring in the playoffs back when the Rockets played the Jazz. Harpring was a bench player and is no longer in the NBA. He's pure trash. Even his most ardent supporters on clutchfans, those who blindly worshiped him, have now abandoned their hero so you should be ashamed for even trying (weakly I might add) to defend him...smh
Refs did them no favors, but it all boils down to the Pacers coming out after halftime with no apparent gameplan anymore on either side of the ball. It was baffling. Everything they did right in the first half was forgotten and gone. Quit running, quit feeding Hibbert, quit pressing, quit rotating, everything. I get the sense this was a young team expecting the visitors to roll over and failing to regroup when they went on a run instead. You called it before - this was a pseudo Game 7. Pacers put themselves in a very bad position this afternoon. Gave back homecourt advantage, gave back momentum, and now have to face the Heat in Miami with Miami officiating. 2-1 may swing to 2-3 just like that.
I caught the last quarter of the game and I think you summed up everything up superbly. Pacers looked like how I had expected them to before the series started, and Miami performed likewise. I'm still rooting for Pacers but I'm not sure they have enough poise, they didn't look like the same team from Game 3 in the 4th. They certainly have the depth to win, but with the way momentum is shifting I'm dubious.
That's a Clutch Fans syndrome. You could say that about alot of teams. Fans tend to overrate their own players, sometimes.
Though, I have to say Battier was defensive dynamo and a pretty good 3 point shooter. Very smart player. I trip out over the hype of players, like V-Span, Joey Dorsey, Marcus Morris, Patrick Patterson, and probably Donatas Motiejunas. Jeremy Lin was kind of warranted. Don't get me started on the prospective trades we are going to make for Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard, or Chris Bosh.
Battier actually did did a good job on David West today. He can't keep up with perimeter guys anymore. Huge disappointment that West could not overpower him without fouling.
Seriously? It was a matter of West playing small, not Battier playing big. Battier is now a complete chump and West let his team down by being passive.
