U ain't lying. Not to mention,he's. Not getting an extension. He quit in memphis and drove his value in the toilet for the most part. He was disinterested and that's how the lakers got him for kwame brown and their best overseas prospect.
gasol to Minnesota , pekovic to Houston lowry , Parsons and the Knicks first rounder to the Lakers. Sounds good no?
Scola plus Dalembert for Gasol would allow the Lakers to cut Dalembert (only $1.5 million guaranteed) and save a lot in luxury tax. And then we would still have enough assets left to make a run at Dwight. Or perhaps flip Gasol and Lowry for Dwight, and make a run at Deron.
The more I watch, the more I'm absolutely positive I do not want the Rockets trading away #assets and committing to paying Pau Gasol $19 million/season over the next two years.
I would still do it if it lets us get out from Scola's and KMart's contracts. Those guys are declining faster than Pau.
I don't think Martin is declining fast.... his game is taken away, lost all of his confidence, too emo Scola will be fine... guy is a warrior.... Scola I would keep, even for the bench
KMarts contract is expiring next season, and Scola has the last contract the Rockets could consider using the Amnesty Clause on. You dont do a Gasol trade for financial reasons thats for sure. If you were to simply replace Scola with Gasol, yes you do the trade all day long basketball wise. Makes this team much better defensively, and adds the element of high post passing that surrounding players on this roster thrived so well with in Adelman's high post offense ran by Hayes & Miller in the past. IF, and thats a big IF, there is a palateable Gasol trade on the table this Summer, you have to ask yourself the question, Does he make others around him better, and does he help the "team" out? IMO, I still think he does these two things whether or not he's dominating basketball games like we see him do in international play and like he's done in the past for the Lakers at times.
Given how Gasol played the playoffs lately, I am not so sure about much better offensively or defensively, yes upgrade but not a good option for the future, he'd still **** block the development of other players.
Gasol is not the problem with the Lakers. Bynum is. Bynum is an enigma, way overrated. They're fixing to tie their cart to the wrong horse with him. I hope it happens so they are hamstrung for a while. The only thing about Gasol at the moment is Bosh may become available and he is younger and a better option to line up with Dwight. I'm crossing my fingers for a top 3 pick in the draft and the Heat losing to the Pacers. We could trade them the gasol package (Lowry/Scola) for Bosh and then go after Dwight with Martin's expiring, Patterson, Morris, Smith, Bud, and the two picks.
