Watching the press conference, Bynum didn't exactly say all that. He did say he didn't get the ball later in the game, but he then went onto say it was because the Thunder fronted him and the team never made the adjustments.
I think it's past time to drop the Westbrick label. OKC has two top 10 players in Durant and Westbrook. He has to score for OKC to be at their best.
Tonight should be the nail in the coffin on the idea "Westbrick" shoots too much and OKC needs a "pass first" PG. OKC wins another one when he has more FGAs than KD. His only TO tonight was the slip at the end. 37 points on 26 shots. But his defense wasn't all that great. WB has taken major steps forward every year and will continue to improve. Doubters should wake up and smell the coffee and just admit he's good. In contrast, CP3 has laid a giant egg in the 2nd round. I'm guessing he'll be 2nd team all-NBA again.
The arena is likely to happen. There's a tech guy named Chris Hansen (has a boatload of Facebook stock) who has a deal that pretty much everyone has signed off on. City Hall if pretty damn enthusiastic, and it doesn't require a lot of public money (and all of that funded by arena taxes). The location is great, and if he can buy a team, he's committed money to build an arena to have them play here. He also wants to get a hockey team, but that seems more of a secondary goal. I've been meaning to update the NBA Dish thread. There's a ton of info on SeattleTimes.com. Pretty much the only opposition is from the Port of Seattle because they're bugging over traffic in the area, but they always b**** and moan when anybody wants to do anything around the Port. That's a group beset by corporate incompetence, corrupt public officials, and the worst union practices.
Shouldn't be. They will likely lose to the Spurs because the Spurs are a better team all around. I guess the line keeps moving for him.
If this comment is about Tony Parker and Wesbrook battling over 2nd team all NBA honors, fine. If not, it's crazy. Westbrook is a top 10 player regardless of what happens in a series with the Spurs.
Westbrook is the best PG in the league. If he had his own team, dude would average 30. He's Drose with a jumper/defense/rebounding/durability.
This is a joke post. Can't speculate how good he would be until he actually gets his own team and sees the defenses that other #1 option PGs do. Chris Paul is most definitely the best PG in the league.
go listen to Lakers radio sports shows (esp. post game show after every laker game). After game 1, their whole game plan is stopping westbrook after that pick and roll and limit his playmaking. That's why the Lakers think they won game 3, and nearly won games 2. WB's fg% went down and his assists went down in those games. The Lakers D is geared to stop him as WB is seeing multiple defenders. If you don't think so, go get tunein and listen since you're not from LA apparently. CP3? At his best, he is. But his injuries and what he's going through right now limit his consistency.
In order for OKC to beat the Spurs, Durant has to dominate Leonard, and Perkins slow Duncan. I'm betting Brooks runs a Westbrook-Harden-Sefolosha-Durant-Ibaka/Perkins lineup at some point with Diaw and Bonner being stretch 4's.
You're pretty much overreacting using a small sample size. Now suddenly Westbrook is a top 5 player? Just stop. You're making yourself look idiotic. Wade and Paul are better players. Rose you could argue, but I'll take Rose over Westbrook. It's different when you have your own team and are the primary threat.
I can't put WB over CP3 yet. Maybe next year. He's #2 on my current list now that Rose is probably out for next season. Not quite top 5 yet but that also may happen next year. He's needs to start taking care of the ball during the regular season like in this series.
wow...i turned the tv off early and went to bed but had the urge to check the score now. Can't believe i didn't watch this i thought OKC lost it...
