    This is correct.

There are many on here who are intolerant of religious beliefs, as you are seeing.

i can't even tell you how much it bothers me when a christian (not necessarily a pro-life person) says something to the effect of: "who cares if he's on death row but didn't actually kill the person...the more drug addicts/thieves/rapists off the street, the better!" capital punishment is an important issue to me, so the few-and-far-between political arguments i get in usually involve that topic, and i hear that stuff alllllll the tiiiiiime.

just wondering, IzakDavid, do you think maybe part of the reason you find homos so distasteful and want to limit their rights is because you find some of them attractive? it's not that uncommon...

A couple of things. If attraction to the same sex is innate that makes you a homosexual whether you ever act on it or not. You just haven't acted upon those desires.

I understand you don't like the choice to act on those desires, but those choices don't hurt you at all. Why shouldn't consenting adults be able to act on the desires of love that other consenting adults are allowed to act on?

You can believe anything you wish, however your beliefs should not lead to the removal of, or refusal to grant, equal rights and privileges for others. Believe what you will, pray your little heart out, but do it in your church, your house, and with those who share your beliefs. Keep your beliefs out of my government, my schools, and my right to be free from them.

So, you have a type. Neat. That's a step, Marcus Bachmann, nice work. I'd like to hear more about the choices you made and didn't make in those situations. How erm...hard was it for you to say no?

Oh, and I'm still waiting for a US law reference about choosing to not consummate a marriage making it not legal.

So what you are saying is that you aren't gay because you think about doing gay things but don't actually do them. I see, well no you aren't gay at all.

I'm straight and I've never ever been in any situation where doing something gay was an option lol.

Yes, he's allowed to think of as many guys as he wants, but as long as his mouth isnt physically plugged up by another dude, he's heterosexual.

    lol.

This thread has so much ridiculousness in it.

...then there's that whole "...one nation, under God..." part in the pledge of allegiance that's recited every morning in public schools.

O.k., think of it like this...I am exclusively attracted to women. To the extent I could not even fathom what it would be like to have sex with a man. If things were reversed and society/your bible expected you to have sex with men could you overcome your innate desire for poonani? I think probably not.

one more question for IzakDavid13- you made those choices BEFORE you were a dedicated christian, how you would behave now given the same opportunity?

Which wasn't part of the original pledge. It was added in the 1950s by a socialist minister. I say the original. You should too.

There's nothing wrong with that. But, the quote "I find an athletic man's body attractive, but not in a sexual way." No one thought that until you mentioned. I do think that's possible ... but typically those people tend to be asexual or ... bi curious, not all. Honestly, I hate to say this, but there's a thin line between admiration and little more than that. Depending on the level of attraction.

Wouldn't that make one homo-romantic, possibly a homo-romantic asexual? So that takes the sexual part out of the equation, with that being said is it a sin to be homoromantic (romantic without sex)? That's not specified in the Bible, though typically if one is hetero/homosexual . . . they tend to be hetero/homo romantic by default. But, there are special cases.

So do you think heterosexuality is a sin?

It's pretty common for the religious haters to toss out other irrelevant issues to try to go off and call the religious folks "hypocrites". This is an attempt to distract from the topic at hand, and not helpful or relevant to pushing the discussion further.

finalsbound, you're guilty of this. It just shows immature debate skills.

um, yeah, because the post you quoted really kept the discussion from being pushed further...

you're the one avoiding the discussion at hand.
