Quite honestly, if this is true, and I'm a bit skeptical considering no sourcing, I'm thrilled if they get half-seasons to wrap everything up; for 30 Rock the end has been coming for a long time considering how expensive the show is, and even Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin seem almost relieved that they get to end the show on their own terms.

As for Parks and Recreation, they've been on such a roll lately, it will be the true case of an athlete dying young. I remember that Alan Sepinwall proposed that NBC would cancel Parks and Recreation in order to force Mike Schur to play Mose full time on the Dwight Schrute spin-off; sad that it might actually happen. This election storyline could have easily been written for the series finale; and considering the single strongest batch of episodes was the Harvest Festival plot, I could really see them putting together a fantastic final sprint.

And as for Community, everyone who has been a part of Greendale over the last few years should be absolutely thrilled that they managed to make it to season 4 and graduation, even if abbreviated. When all is said and done, they will have made 80 some episodes of crazy, amazing television, and been given the dignity of writing a series finale. I've hated on NBC for not giving it much of a chance, but they're doing the equivalent of starting all the senior benchwarmers in the season finale here with all these comedies; for that I thank them.

That episode would be a killer weird ass episode to the public mass , but to people that appreciate the details and ethos of Community, this episode was BA and a classic, and cooky in a good way that only long time fans can appreciate

Showing them doing last years' clip show in a mental hospital; this is the only show on TV that can pull that joke off.

I'm so glad they went the direction of dancing like no one's watching; screw popular appeal and non-serialized plot, reward the people who are keeping you on the air: the unbearably loud, unemployed hipsters who are too cheap to buy a TV but watch your show on Hulu and tweet cool hashtags to their 50 followers!

    Completely enthralled.

It's the knowing half-smile, bitten bottom lip that gets me. There is nothing sexier than a woman who is comfortable with/entirely in control of her own appeal.

Great episode, too many ideas in that episode would have been great stand alone stories.. I was hoping they run that Greendale Doesn't exist/mental institution bit a little more, would have been killer towards the finale...

So, they're putting Community on Fridays at 8:30pm after Whitney...

This is probably the single best way for the show to get to #6seasonsandamovie; if the theory that there is a dedicated, hardcore audience that will follow the show wherever it goes, the rating it's pulling right now would be amazing on Fridays, and the lead-in doesn't matter in the slightest. Also, considering they're not calling this a series finale, it definitely seems like they (and Sony) desperately want to find a way to make the back 9 renewal work and add to what is very likely going to be a monster hit for Comedy Central.

I think more likely being slotted on a lower rated night with less add revenue means they get budgeted for less promotion and sponsors have more leverage to call for a quicker cancellation. Broadcast networks are like strip mall owners in that they don't give a **** what's in their space as long as they're fully monetized. They'll rip out the Trader Joe's and Ethan Allen and put in an Aaron's Rental or a third Starbucks in a pinch.

Not long till the 1.5 hours of holy communion! The series is tantalizingly poised for a ridiculous end to the story of Chang vs Greendale.
    Can't wait

Anyone catch the episodes + season finale last night?

It felt more like a series finale to me! They tied up all the loose ends it seems, and

    one more
even Abed is ready to get help

The episodes themselves were fun as hell, but I'm not sure what they have left for the next year... I hope it's less wacky than this season

I don't see the story continuing after next season though - Jeff would have earned a legit 4-yr bachelor's degree and it seems unlikely that the show will even come close to 6 seasons and a movie

I really did seem like a series finale, wonder if they wrote it as such in case they weren't given another season. I liked the 8 bit episode quite a bit.

I'm guessing this was the case. At the time they filmed it, I'm sure their future was still up in the air. And with a show that has been on the precipice of being canceled so many times like Community has, you have to prepare for every season finale like it could be the series finale.

The penultimate and season finales were solid but the 8-bit episode was AWESOME.

Rumors are that Dan Harmon's having issues during contract negotiations; more than any show on TV, I worry about them losing their showrunner. If this was the "Dan Harmon Finale", I think he acquitted himself magnificently.

For some weird reason I really think the show might have a chance on Fridays, against all odds; I know it's a death slot, and odds are the show will go quietly after 13 episodes, but expectations will be lowered so far, the show might keep just enough DVRs to stay on for a back 9.

And considering that the show's Pantheon Level episode, Remedial Chaos Theory, took place entirely out of Greendale, I wouldn't be too worried about what the show might have done if they got past graduation. Heck, just flesh out the fake flashbacks from Paradigms of Human Memory and you have a couple more high concept episodes.

It's kind of incredible that 3 of the best comedies of the 2000s will all likely be ending their run next year in Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock and Community; it's like seeing 3 hall of fame pitchers retiring all at the same time, after their team finished in last place...might get a bit dusty next TV season in my apartment...

    Harmon exits 'Community' as showrunner
Guarascio, Port sign on as new exec producers
    By JON WEISMAN
''Community'' showrunner Dan Harmon is leaving the NBC comedy after three seasons.
David Guarascio and Moses Port, who have an overall deal with producing studio Sony Pictures Television, will become exec producers and showrunners of ''Community,'' which received a 13-episode order for the 2012-13 season , along with a move to 8 p.m. Fridays.

The move will come as a shock to the small but diehard fan base of ''Community,'' an inventive comedy that has become intrinsically identified with Harmon. But Harmon's deal for the show was up for renewal after the just-completed third season.

A consulting role for Harmon remains possible but not definite.

Guarascio and Port most recently have been consulting producers on ABC comedy ''Happy Endings'' and were developing pilot ''El Jefe'' for Fox, which gave it serious consideration before passing. Their previous credits include critically acclaimed ''Aliens in America'' for the CW and ''Just Shoot Me'' for NBC.

Harmon's departure is the biggest producer shockwave for ''Community,'' but not the only one. Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan have moved on to an overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV, while Anthony Russo and Joe Russo have shifted to NBC's recently ordered ''Animal Practice.''

''Community'' finished its season Thursday with three episodes, including a final one that arguably served as a valedictory for Harmon and the series. NBC's decision to move the series to Fridays, which mimicked a similar move for ''Chuck'' last season, hinted that the program might ride off into the sunset, but the change in producers hints at a desire to revamp the series for a longer run.

The overnight ratings for the show, which drew a 1.3 rating in 18-49 for its Thursday airings, figure to decline on Fridays, but syndication hopes could make a difference.

Jesus; on a Thursday night in May sweeps, with movie ad budgets starting to ramp up? Not that this speaks well of Community but NBC is a dreadfully managed network. Get ready for 15 hours a week of talent shows (since their scripted re-runs are worthless and they can't even do cop shows right).

    That first episode sucked.

    The second two were hilarious!

Jeff's costume was awesome! He looked just like that tool.

I wish I understood the ending though. I don't know how to do those spoiler things, so I won't give details, but if you watched the very last episode, the very last scene, it shows something that leaves quite a cliffhanger.

Not as much of a cliffhanger as How I Met Your Mother, holy F!
