It was good enough for them to go 3-1 against OKC in the regular season. Playoffs obviously different but Pops is a genius compared to Brooks.
Yes. But, the Thunder right now are on a whole different level the way Durant, Westbrook and Harden are lighting it up. Harden and Westbrook, with there penetration, I don't see Duncan turning away those shots. They light up in the paint vs Bynum; they'll light up vs Duncan.
so the Memphis series one year ago was a fluke? Unbeatable when they got of Jefferson and switched role players?
Thank you. The Spurs are not unbeatable. They can be beaten by an athletic, but skilled team with interior defense, and athletic guards. They can also be beaten by good 3 point shooting. That's how they were beaten last year. The Thunder have the best chance of beating the Spurs, especially by the time the Conference Finals hit, when those old grandpappies are worn out and tired. The Thunder have young athletic legs and I'll say again, I think Westbrook and Harden will play amazing.
DeAndre Jordan deserves a call out for his horrible play. Dude has only two points in the game. With CP3 and Griffin hurt, he needs to contribute more. Terrible player.
Griffin needs to go to work on his post-up game. Until he develops one, he is a second-rate all-star but not a top banana player in this league.
I don't know why everyone is comparing last year's Spurs to this year's. This year's team is 1) healthy and 2) completely different-- they are the best offensive team in the NBA, something the Spurs have never even come close to being. This year's Spurs would have decimated last year's and this year's Grizzlies, and they will decimate the Clippers. I just hope they lose game 3 or else Pop will rest his starters in the game 4 back to back and that is just embarrassing (esp. if the Spurs bench wins, which is probable). Spurs and Thunder should be a good series but I think Pop is just a much better coach than Brooks and will make the necessary adjustments to slow their attack down. Spurs and Heat would be a good series if the Heat stop playing like shyte (and if they don't they won't make the Finals either .. never seen such a tempermental team).
Don't kid yourself, the Clippers may have gotten the score a bit closer with a healthy squad, but they would have lost both these games. It would have been nice if they played a team that had an offense in the first round just to get some practice, though.
