I think my favorite thing about Bigtexxx and his ilk is how one day they can spout out lines like "he doesn't govern" or " he can't get anything done". At the same time however, they can scream in other threads "he's destroying the country" or "his policies are sending us on a death spiral".

The fact that they can't or won't see how rediculous they are is at one level a source of extreme entertainment and at the same time on of the saddest things I've ever seen. They are truly lost, but at the same time their anger absolutely refuses them to ask for directions. Amazing to behold but sad to watch!
In the end, all we can do is pity them.

This is such a tired excuse

He's not the first president to have an opposition party control the house. The libs still control the senate for crying out loud.

His arrogance and unwillingness to work across the aisle leads us to the pitiful result we're in.

0 Democrats voted for the budget. Did Republicans force Democrats to vote against it?

Budget resolutions only require simple majority in the Senate, GOP can't block them.

"Simply majority"? Oh what a relief. Now he's only got to convince about 50 additional Senators to vote for his steaming pile of turd logs

    Can you feel the anger?

    LOL.

so tell me texx, how does this stop Obama, the same Obama who surged to a 7 percent lead over Romney on Fox News, for Christ's sake, from being re-elected.

He's either a radical socialist who has done everything, or a bumblehead who has done nothing, you guys need to choose.

health care, osama's dead, gays are free to serve, sing along!

You know which country would've never allowed this to happen? That's right, CHINA. The country where things get passed with 100% of the votes. Now there's a country that gets things done. :)

I don't know what is more pathetic. Either the OP and his ilk are truly ignorant and so keep spouting the same thing even when presented facts that put the lie to their ravings, or they are intentionally disregarding reality in pursuit of a partisan line that accomplishes nothing.

Nice try. To think that senate democrats would actually embarrass their own party? you guys are crazy on the right. "Wingnut" is right:

    http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/05/16/senate-republicans-engineer-rebuke-on-budget/

Dems voted against having a vote on the Obama budget because Reps were just trying to do it for political theatre.

Please folks, stop posting this crap on this board. It's an eye sore to look at and it belongs on the nut-wing sources you pull this from.

What does that have to do with Obama's last two budgets getting 0 Democrat votes? What does that have to do with the Democrats inability to produce a budget? It's political theater now to bring the president's proposed budget to a vote? Why did he propose it then? WTF are you talking about. smh..........

If it got 0 votes then probably not.

The reason you bring it to a vote is to get these things on record. Obama could easily say during the election 'hey I proposed budgets, the Republicans just obstructed and refused to bring it to a vote.' Now he can't say that so he has to go with option two which I guess would be 'hey I was just joking with those last two budgets I proposed. Pretty funny don't you think? Those nasty Republicans are just playing political games by making Congress vote on my hilarious jokes.'.

Surely Obama thinks these budgets are reasonable or else why propose them? If he thinks they are reasonable then he should want a vote.

If this process is as fantastic as you describe, how come the outcome of the vote is seemingly meaningless to everyone in this thread?

Obama supporters still support him. His haters still hate him.

Don't you think that if a unanimous vote like this is achieved, it should shift some opinions at least? Isn't this a clear sign that at least both sets of supporters don't really trust this voting process?

So was the proposal any good?

How do you know it hasn't? Does it not concern you, as a voter/citizen , that the president's last two proposals have been supported by 0 people in Congress? Do you think budgets are important for the federal government? Does this not affect your view of Obama?

It's also nice to get members of Congress votes on record. When their election comes around they will have to justify how they voted to their constituency (that's why Obama constantly voted 'present', so he wouldn't have to justify any votes).

Doesn't it kind of behoove a president of either party to propose an outlandish budget, simply so that he then be seen as a moderate when the Senate/House invariably slash/add billions to his proposal? I sort of see a president's budget as an opening offer, one not to be taken seriously, such that Congress can add or subtract to the opening bid in order to score political points.

Since any budget the President passes must go through both chambers of Congress, he needs to give the House a way to claim they cut massive amounts from "the President's Budget". If he submits a totally reasonable budget, the House would still be compelled to cut from this number so they could claim a win.

Obama has always struck me as a pragmatist, more concerned with passing legislation rather than fighting bitterly for his views. Offering a budget that can be used as a political pinata by both parties, such that a grand bargain can be struck seems quite in character...
