I can't decide if Pop is the best actual coach ever (by actual, meaning more than just a "zen-master"), or if he's just JVG blessed with 3 of the smartest most efficient and capable offensive players you'll find? I guess somewhere in between. That said, good teams make any player into solid rotational players. Name a championship squad or finals squad and you can always find a couple of guys who went on to be marginalized later in their careers with different teams.
Just a while ago, GEORGE HILL was getting playing time over Tony Parker. Popovich is an amazing coach.
LOOOOL. This is what happens when you play a team that actually runs plays and can shoot. The Grizzlies were just a worse version of the Clippers. The Spurs are playing a whole different ballgame. It's going to be tough to get more than a win or two in this series.
Eric Bledsoe is showing that he has the potential to be a special young player in the NBA. His defense can be suffocating. Deandre Jordan played better even though i still think he's a terrible fit with Blake Griffin. Blake Griffin isn't good enough of an offensive player to be paired with a limited but athletic defensive center. Jordan would be a much better fit playing alongside a pick n pop PF like Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge...
Clips will fight hard and even if they lose this series I'm so proud of these guys. Come on Clippers - beat the f'n spurs.
The Spurms are just ridiculous. They are such a well oiled machine. They will never, ever beat themselves. They make the Clips look like the Washington Generals most of the time. Cagey vets, a great coaching staff, perfectly fitting role players that accept their roles. I'm pretty sure I hate them.
young, athletic, and defensive-minded 7fter without injury problems. He's on the wrong team for development.
I think your assessment is spot on but I disagree with your conclusion. I'm a Rockets fan and I despise the Jazz/Mavs/Lakers but the Spurs I've always admired as a franchise. They're even less boring to watch than they used to be.
