Because then there's a bunch of info in the thread that you'd like to click, but know you shouldn't... and you have to sift through it. It's like a bad email inbox... looking for that email you actually want, hoping you don't miss something good.

Then there's the fact that not everyone agrees on what is spoiler material, and thus some don't mind posting things without the tags, thinking "that doesn't "ruin" anything, but is still something that some who aren't reading the books don't want to know.

The 2nd thread that was created before was specifically a book thread. Maybe a 2nd thread (3rd?) that was still for the show but for people who've read the books would work better.

Honestly, it's not great for book readers in this thread either. Some cliffhanger happens in the show and non-readers speculate and the book readers know the answer but really can't say anything. Book readers can't have a real discussion of the plot because they already know what happens.

So I'm down for a show thread for book readers to compare the show to the book in. I don't want to start one though if it's destined to die like the other one did. Would other book readers in this thread participate in a spoilers allowed thread?

Made the thread. Hopefully it lasts.

Changing the subject, I think earlier in the thread people have mentioned that some of the episodes seemed short, especially early on. From HBO.com's schedule, here are the lengths of this seasons episodes:

    1. The North Remembers - 53 minutes
    2. The Night Lands - 54 minutes
    3. What is Dead May Never Die - 53 minutes
    4. Garden of Bones - 51 minutes
    5. The Ghost of Harrenhal - 55 minutes
    6. The Old Gods and the New - 54 minutes
    7. A Man Without Honor - 56 minutes

    8. The Prince of Winterfell - 54 minutes
    9. Blackwater - 57 minutes
    10. Valar Morghulis - 64 minutes (!)

Do you think the books and the show will diverge to a point where the spoilers will no longer be spoilers?

They need to chill out on the opening, it's over 1:40 long. This isn't anime.

Wow! I checked out a Game of Thrones Forum and some of the folks on there take things waaaaay to seriously.

People are freaking out like its the end of the world because of the changes from the book, lol.

Oh well, I guess it's just like fans of anything, some are gonna have stronger opinions than others. I just found some of these guys funny though.

That's great. What good does a warning on the first page do for you if you pick up the thread for new posts?

Unless you actually read the thread from start to finish every time there's a new post. By page 49 I bet you forget anyway.

Then why not just go back and delete the post rather than pretend to be pissed off about it under your other username? I'll never understand why people have multiple accounts on here, people should be banned for that IMO. True Beaner, do us all a favor and walk out of this forum rather than just the thread.

His regular account doesn't have Contributing Member status and his 2nd account sure as hell doesn't. He couldn't have deleted if he wanted to. But since he immediately logged out and logged back in on his real account, that tells me he knew full well what he was doing and wouldn't have wanted to delete it anyway.

Technically, I have multiple accounts. Like 6 or 7. But those are from when I didn't post much and randomly changed user names. I'm pretty sure I registered and posted as EddieGriffin after we drafted him, LOL. I haven't posted from any of those accounts since I started this one though.

Wow, I would never have thought to check that. It's interesting, and immediately made me think of another series I enjoy, Mad Men. I wonder if they're doing "episode stretching' as well? I noticed that they dropped the graphic of Draper sitting on the couch with a cigarette when the show returns from a break. The reason I noticed is because it was my cue to stop speeding past the commercials. Yeah, it isn't much, but it's a few seconds at each commercial break that they didn't have before for the show, and some of the episodes seem longer this season. I just wish HBO had bought the series when they had the chance. We've missed out on a commercial-free Mad Men (and boobs!). Anyway, good catch!

it took 7 episodes for me to realize The Mountain has been recast with another actor for season 2.

for a non reader, you wouldn't know it was him until Tywin finally referred to him as Clegane

The Hound is Sandor Clegane, The Mountain is Gregor Clegane.
