Realistically, if Perkins is nicked up, Aldrich should get a few quality minutes unless they want to play Mohammed for heavy minutes and simply go small with Ibaka.

Ever since the Supersonics became the Thunder, I've liked their big man picks (BJ Mullens, Aldrich as opposed to Robert Swift, Saer Sene, Johan Petro). Not saying they'll be superstars but it'd be nice to take a flyer on a legit 7 foot anchor instead of the perennial 6'7'-6'9 "productive" players taken.

Aldrich showed some potential last night! I was surprised at how he crashed the boards... And then I saw him absolutely fail trying to post up somebody.

Yeah, he probably shouldn't take any offensive tips from Perkins.

I thought he would be playing a much bigger role for OKC by now. Instead, he's a victory cigar.

Yeah, I thought he'd get some more playing time by now. But, at a minimum, I expect him to take Nazr's playing time next year.

He was playing against a 6'9 midrange player in garbage time!

I should hope so considering Nazr probably isn't coming back. Otherwise, Aldrich goes into the Byron Mullens category (which is where he belongs IMO).

They should bring in another veteran to backup Perk next year.

Eh, he doesn't seem as useless as Mullens. Offensively, sure... Aldrich is a disaster out there on anything but putbacks or wide open dunks. At first I thought it was just nerves since he rarely gets any playing time, but it is just too much of a mirror image of Perkin's inept offense to be a coincidence.

But as a big boy that can grab a rebound on either end and body up on defense? He looks ok.
