LOL I love the ref that was gutsy enough to call that. May seem like a little thing to some, but if they let that go Pierce gets a wide open look at the 3. Gotta give it to the ref to call that and not just assume it's a legal pick because it's garnett.
KG would probably foul out in the 1st quarter if they called every moving/illegal screen he set, love that the ref was ballsy enough to finally call it on their most important possession. That was as an obvious moving screen as I've seen. He attempted it once and it didn't work so he did the harder the 2nd time when Iggy came around.
Ref wasn't ballsy. If they are gonna call it, they gotta call it early. You don't wait until 12 seconds left and call something you haven't called all game. I don't care if it is the right call (which it wasn't). But even if it is the right call, they hadn't called it all night long. That official should be fined. Consistency is more important than accuracy.
Another depressing repeat NBA Finals with two franchises and two fan bases that make your stomach turn.
A bad screen is a bad screen. Good call. He should be fined for making the right call? For being "inconsistent"? That's a ground so flimsy that it's laughable. They should fine the entire ref squad for being human. You can pinpoint games for literally every ref in the WORLD and claim the same thing.
Man Boston is breaking down in front of our eyes. Their experience is what keeping them in the playoffs. They can't score for crap. Philly is such a mediocre team, but they can actually extend this to 7 games.
No one should be surprised. Boston does this nearly every series, they think they have a switch and sometimes pay for it. Gotta agree with charles and them that 6ers are not going to beat the Celtcis 3 more times. They played terrible and still almost won. 6ers had to make miraculous shots just to win by 3 points.
B/c the 76ers are that bad. They barely beat a Chicago team missing its 2 best players. You give the benefit of the doubt to Boston if they were lazy/lackadaisacal. But they're trying, and trying hard. They're just not that good. Their lack of offense is embarrassing. Indy/Heat or whoever faces Boston should destroy them in 5 at the most.
Nah they were not. they went down both games by double digts and in both games once the 4th hit they took the lead in like 2-3 mins. In both games. Once the 4th rolled around they looked like a completely different team, even the TNT guys were saying the same thing. Their bench guys were playing hard all game, but not Garnett, Pierce, and Rondo. They were cruising through most of that game until the 4th qtr. Philly hit some really tough shots (in a row) to win that game. Boston pretty much does this every year. They are likely going to go to Philly and win on the road convincingly and then go into cruise control again until something wakes them up.
You forget that 6ers are technically an 8 seeder..... strength wise more of a 4th or 5th seeder Boston is the 4th best team after the Pacers so this should be close
That's b/c they're old and broken down, so they can't play at a high level all game. There's a reason they play in spurts. And they come back in the 4th b/c they're playing AT HOME. Most home teams make runs in the 4th quarter. That's expected. TNT is saying those stuff b/c they respect Boston. And that's fine. But the truth is they're not that good. If you're "really good," you can struggle all game and still beat teams like PHilly at home by pulling away pretty easily. Philly is a very very mediocre team. They have no inside presence, depend on jump shots (and very streaky at that), no go-to guy, no 2nd star type of player either... You shouldn't have trouble beating this team at home. Does this every year? They lost in the semi-finals last year in 5 games to the Heat, who weren't even playing well. They're going to win this series b/c Philly sucks, but they're going to get destroyed in the conference finals.
Big difference there. They do this every year. They play a team they are supposed to beat and the series ends up being a close one. Actually using you're logic of being a really good team they would fit that because that's exactly how they win games. They aren't going to win games like that every time but the thing is more often than not they do. Maybe they are saying that stuff though because they think so too? It's not just respect but watching the games you can tell just by watching that they are a lot more focused and charged later in games. Opposed to a team like the Spurs who rarely put it in cruise. At this point though you have to give teams respect. Philly is not a mediocre team, the rockets are a mediocre team. The bulls weren't destroying the 6ers even when they were healthy. Even with just Noah they were still having problems with that team, I think you should nod you cap to that and part of the reason the Celtics lose games like this is because they expect to win them. Had Philly not hit those shots they really had no business hitting then yes Boston wins at home. The old thing is getting a bit tiring too, you'd think after how the Mavs performed last year and how the Spurs are doing that you wouldn't count a bunch of champions out until they are out. Rocket fans live by the motto. after all. Any ways all this talk about how close a team loss or how close a team wins is irrelevant. It really doesn't matter in the playoffs. Great teams scrape by wins all the times and sometimes things just go wrong. The last Rocket series shows just how it can be sometimes.
I really can care less about who wins this series. I'm only looking to see how much this series would rekindle this rivalry for the upcoming seasons since it had been pretty dead since 1985, the last time these two Atlantic Division rivals met in a best of seven series. I would say that this rivalry may be getting rekindled right now if you look at how both of these first two games could have gone either way, and how this series appears to be shaping up to be a six or seven gamer.
Philly finished was 35-31 in the freakin' East, backing into the playoffs (we were 34-32 in the more competitive West with injuries, new coach, new and young players). Did you even watch them in the last 2.5 months of the season? They went from leading their division by 6-7 games to being 3rd and was behind Boston by 4 games. They are as mediocre as you can get. Chicago without its 2 best players would have gone to a 7th game at home (and win it) if they didn't choke. Chicago WITH Rose whup them by 23 points in game 1 and Chicago wasn't even playing well in game 1 before the game got down to 12-13 points. Did you even watch game 1 of that series? And Boston is tied 1-1 with this team with the first 2 games at home. What game are you watching? It won't b/c Boston will slide even further after this year. This is their last year of advancing past the first round of the playoffs. And Philly? Well, they need a star to take that extra step. But they don't have even a 2nd-tier star. So they're stuck in mediocrity unless a trade happens.
don't compare a western team's record with an Eastern one. They play different teams. Well that's the mistake right there, rose was never healthy in the first place and When he went down(again) Chicago still had the team that put them as the 1 seed. (The one minus rose) and lost at home to this same 6ers team. They had no business going down 2-1 to this team any ways but they did. The Bulls team minus just Rose was thought to still be the 2nd best team in the East and it was Philly that found themselves in the drivers seat for that series. You forget this Philly team is well coached, has some really good back court players, and some decent bigs. They are not what i'd call a mediocre team. Whether they backed into the playoffs or not is irrelevant AT this point, I guess according to this logic the Grizzlies were a mediocre team last year too?
