Today marks the halfway point in the Texans offseason. It's been 17 weeks since they last played a game and we're only 17 weeks away from the regular season opener against Miami.

The second half of the offseason usually has more activity. Rookies report to Reliant today and begin integrating into the team this week. OTAs start next week with minicamp in mid-June. Then there is a lull for about six weeks until training camp starts in late July. After that is preseason and then the regular season is upon us.

Then the playoffs, then the Superbowl, then the parade.

Still trying to figure out why everyone is so fascinated with this guy. I know I know he marched the team down the field with 2 min remaining to clinch the division in cinci. He was effing awful in the playoffs and yea im including the game we won.

    1. The dude was a rookie...A ROOKIE

    2. He went up against some good defenses in Cincy and Baltimore (in Baltimore)

He's more athletic than Schaub and can make plays he can't like tuck the ball in and run.

TJ would of ran the ball in against Oakland then throw a pick like Schaub did...that was god awful

TJ can only get better- He played overall NFL QB average level when everything, the timing, the lack of offseason training, the schedule, Jacoby Jones, etc. was against him.

There is a lot of reason to feel TJ can develop even greater, and I hope we see that <& yes count me in the I'm worried about Schaub going forward camp> Schaub is an above average QB considering the past, but I can't see Schaub getting any better with the foot. Schaub is fine if healthy but I want at least some mobility -just a wee bit

Yates would have got lit up if he tried to run that ball in as well. Yates is a better all around athlete but it's not like he runs a 4.5 40. Actually, Yates and schaubs 40 times are not that far off

Schaub wouldn't have thrown 3 ints in Baltimore

Yates is a nice project backup but still has a lot to get better at and isn't anywhere near as effective as Schaub in the passing game

well, he already took out the screws off his foot. and he Kubiak said, that he is going to be limited for OTAs, but only for precaution.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...e-limited-before-houston-texans-training-camp

"If we're not paying attention, he'll do everything, but we're not going to let him do that," Gary Kubiak said Monday in reference to the Texans' organized team activities, which start May 21.

"We're going to put the reins on him, so to speak," Kubiak said. "He will do drill work, could throw some seven-on-seven, but he will not be put in a team environment where he might get tripped up or something like that happens."

"He's ready to go," Kubiak said. "It's us being cautious with him right now."

All I'm saying is that if Matt goes down again...

I'm perfectly fine with TJ leading the way and I'm sure his game has improved too

if you think about it that way, you're going to get gray hair easily. the nba will carry us through mid june, then maury wheeling and dealing and striking out will get us through the last days of June. After that we have 3 weeks left of isolated agony and torment. But once those three weeks are over, it's all gravy. at that point, the worst moment comes when you're waiting for the season to start already but you still have to play game four of the preseason.

June is the worst. I have to actually pay attention to baseball to get any sort of sports fix.

    Mid-June to mid-august is terrible.

Hot as balls and no basketball or football to watch.

I still think we could. We were Jacoby Jones away from the AFC Championship game. Think about how good we were all feeling when we were up and getting the ball back. We were dominating the Ravens on both sides of the ball. Then Jacoby Jones happened.

Then who knows what happens vs the Patriots.

Yes, I'm happy last season had some semblance of success. But we were SO close last year. Sucks.
