Hitman says ridiculous **** and maintains this pimp schtick that makes him a character and adds to the flavor of the board. Sure, he's a misogynistic *******, but he's works for a Houston SOB. What else are we to expect from him? heypartner f0cked with my ClutchFans user experience by hacking the site and leads me to believe he wouldn't have a problem taking it a step further and hacking members of the board.
From my brief encounters with HP a decade ago (holy crap), he was a very nice guy. His main problem here is that he forgets that it's not his personal website. Other than that, I have no problem with either him or Hitman calling out each other over their different opinions. I think the main thing is that he's a repeat offender. Again, no problem with thread derailing imo...it's bad bbs etiquette, but so is pimping lol. It's just that we're not on HPfans.net, and he can't operate like we are.
Saying heyp "hacked" the site is kind of funny... I can understand the confusion, but he didn't really do that. He doesn't have any extra power than any other contributing member. I think this image summed it up nicely: I have HTML enabled... on purpose. It allows you to easily use things on the board like iframes (posting YouTubes), tables, image tags, etc. We probably shouldn't allow that because BBCODE can replace just about everything, but the point is we allow you to post HTML. It hasn't been a problem because it's a benefit to the community. If that is no longer the case, we'll just disable it. heypartner simply used a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meta_refresh">Meta Refresh Redirect</a>. It's an HTML tag that redirects you to another page. Since he did that, we had one user start a new thread saying there was a massive security hole on the board and everyone needs to shut down flash/javascript and another claim that heypartner has access to a moderator control panel. heypartner is just ... heypartner. He's been this way his entire time on the board. At the same time, when you claim all women are whores, you're probably going to get some emotional response. heypartner's point may be good but he went overboard and went about it the (ridiculously) wrong way. I didn't kick him. I don't really care that he redirected page 5 of this thread to a police website for 5-6 minutes... I more cared about the overreaction by some about heypartner's "power" or some security breach. That's not the case.

Damn, man. See, this is what I LOVE about this site. A lot of moderators would have flipped and totally shut the thread down, banned user(s), etc. etc. etc. But Clutch is cool enough to understand that the "characters" on this site are a big part of what makes it so unique and fun. Even the ones you may not like add to the site in their own way. Over-moderated boards are dull and boring. Clutch always knows just when to step in and, more importantly, when to just let stuff slide. Okay, just wanted to put that out there. Now back to my Taxi Driver references.
I knew it was just an html re-direct and it's really no threat at all. Clutch is right about that. And it's really coll that heyp wasn't banned. I think he realized he made ass so he hasn't really posted here since.
This thread has been very entertaining but now that it has climaxed it has left me with the taste of disposable literature. Want to read something else now. Can we nominate the best threads of this year, link included?
