    So does Bosh.

Also, I wonder if the trade kicker on either one of them will actually be payable, given this rule:

    http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q96

Max salary for players with 10-years + experience is $18.09 million, Gasol already earns more than that (he could do it because of annual % increases).

    - you are right... he is not a franchise player
    - the difference between us and the raptors is that our front office is better... we would actually try and get him some help with smart moves.. raptors made a lot of mistakes during the bosh era and he hardly had any help
    - i think this trade would eb great
    - bosh would not be the franchise but he would be a step up and if we can still get a star... he is a great second option

I do not think Bosh is the one that we can build around, but this deal is much better than any bringing in gasol from LA.

Bosh - yes. Lowry is moveable if we can resign Dragic and Scola/Kmart are contracts we'd love to get off the books...
    Gasol - no.

I would trade Lowry & Scola for Bosh. Sure why not? It's really low risk.

Would you guys do a Lowry sammy d and scola for miller and bosh? Miami finally gets a decent starting center with an expiring contract. A starting caliber point with reasonable contract and a scorer powerfoward of the bench. I'm sure scola can score the same as bosh will all the open looks he will get. As for Houston, they finally get their all star. Resign camby Dragic and lee. Draft Leonard at 14. And offer harden a front loaded contract.

    Camby Leonard
    Bosh patpat
    Parsons Morris cbud
    Harden lee
    Dragic

If we make a trade with the heat I might just have to actually pay attention to Miami next season...

Bosh is like the PF version of K-Mart.

I don't mind. As long as we have defensive C and SF to complement them, that would actually make a very good balanced team.

Just don't expect Bosh to be the leader of this team. Hate the guy's attitude, but we are desparate. I would take him even for the sake of being able to re-package him for a real star.

    - Both Lowry & Chalmers are both on reasonable contracts both with team options for the 2013-14 season.
    - MIA can still use their amnesty likely M. Miller
    - Trade L. Scola, P. Patterson, S. Dalembert for C. Bosh! Like you said MIA gets a starting PF & C in L. Scola & S. Dalembert(exp) plus a backup PF in P. Patterson.
    - Resign Camby & bring over Motiejunas
    - Draft M. Leonard #14, T. Ross #16
    - HOU won't match C. Lee if they bring in Harden but I believe C. Lee will more than likely be flipped for Harden in a possible trade later next season or off-season. Something like C. Lee, C. Budinger(exp) P. Patterson, Dal 1st for J. Harden, OKC '13 2nd
    - Let K. Martin's contract expire & bring over Llull following the season going into the 2013-14 season with:

    Camby, Leonard
    Bosh, Motiejunas
    Parsons, Morris
    Harden, Ross
    Lowry, Llull

don't want. I'd rather have Gasol. But I just don't see any teams giving up any of their main bigs. We're going to have to go out there and draft someone taller than 6'8 and hope he develops.

The hate for Bosh by some people here is sickening, he's one of the best bigmen in the game and a 2nd tier franchise player that can rebound, block, shoot from everywhere inside the arc(sometimes knocks down 3s) and able to bang inside with his good footwork and athleticsm.

i don't want bosh and i don't want gasol. i want to rebuild God Damnit!

Bosh is 28, is making the max, and he's averaging 18 and 8. He'll be making $22 mil in 2015/2016. He's the kind of piece you add to put you over the top. He's not the kind of guy you build around.

Gasol is two or three years older, and will be making $19 mil for the next two years. At least his contract ends in two years, and at least he can play center, but i don't see how he helps us win a championship in the next two years, so why give up the assets to aquire him?

We need to build through the draft and trade for young, undervalued players when available. We should not shoot our wad on Max players who have likely already played their best basketball.

Your right! I keep thinking about ways to trade for all-star players like Bosh but really don't want the contract though cause I know it would just hinder us down the road, but I want Morey to make some bold moves sooner rather than later. I think we have a decent PG in K. Lowry & a possible steal overseas in S. Llull. With D. Motiejunas coming over next season I think that's a start & drafting a young center like M. Leonard to be mentored by S. Dalembert for a year or to resign M. Camby for him to gain some experience would be ideal. Quick fixes won't get this team nowhere as we know & the only young player at this point I see we should go after is J. Harden. In 2k it's a no brainer, but K. Martin & S. Dalembert have expiring contracts after the season so I don't think it hurts to sit with them for one last season looking for upgrades at next years trade deadline. Also they should really consider amnestying L. Scola so we don't hinder our younger players like M. Morris, P. Patterson, & D. Motiejunas! But hopefully changes are definitely made going into next season & the team has a set direction.

Posters tend to use extreme language and hyperbole, much like your first sentence.

(If the stated opinion of other posters really is making you sick, I highly recommend you take a breather from the internet.)

I'd trade any 3 Houston players for Bosh.

I've made my feelings regarding direction known in other threads, but regarding Gasol v Bosh, I think it's hands down Bosh. The downsides on Bosh are similar to Gasol, but Bosh's advantage in age is balanced by Bosh being adamant that he does not want to play center any more, even in spot minutes.

You can upgrade the 4 with him, but still would need to find a solution at the 5.

Like LA, I highly doubt MIA wants anything to do with Martin, so it's Scola-Lowry to try and get that deal done. And Miami probably has zero interest unless the Heat suffer an embarrassing ouster in the playoffs.

The real problem with a Bosh trade is then you gotta play Miami in the Finals every year for the next 5+ years.
