When Les took over, his wife was a big animal rights activist. She decided to remove meat from the airplane meals. Dream got pissed off and they immediately got meat back on the meals. afterwards, everyone protested by wearing leather jackets when they left the plane
Les is a vegan right? Can't argue with him..... Wife is not with him anymore so more time for his hobby toy the Rockets
The Seattle game in 1996 was truly his finest game. He led us back from 16 points down in the fourth quarter to bring the game into overtime and sparked the team with his energy. Had he not fouled out we would have won that game and George Karl would have puked. I honestly believe we would have been the first nba team to come out of a 3-0 hole. Drexel and cassell were finally getting healthy and if we could just overcome that game...one more foul for Harry to have....we'd have had Seattle playing scared for the rest of the series so huge was the clutch mystique of the Houston rockets at that time.

You know, as a young fan of basketball, I really got spoiled watching those teams. The way they just pulled it out for the W in the big moments with either a clutch block or 3 really set a very high bar for me in my expectations of how a team should perform with something on the line; and not just with the Rockets but the NBA & sports overall. It seems I can really only get into an NBA game these days if the two teams are playing at a very high caliber. Thanks a lot clutch city
People don't realize how amazing the rockets run was. There really is a reason why this site was dubbed clutch city.
Horry: The ultimate juxtaposition of success and laziness. He frustrated me so much, watching him gallop up the course lookin all relaxed. But when it counted ...
Yup! For a 5-year period ('94, '95, '96, '97, and '98), the Western Conference Championship went to the Rox or the team that knocked off the Rox.
I've met him a few times and he's been pretty chill every single time. Once saw him at a gym and I talked to him for a few minutes and he let me take a picture with him. Saw him at Cheesecake Factory once waiting for a table and talked to him again. anywhoo....another 99'er here!
By the way, as soon as we rebounded Anderson's 4th missed FT, I knew Kenny was going to get the shot and I knew he was going to make it and I knew the Rockets were going to win the game. I knew all this with absolute certainty. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/F8FGllZ7VKM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
People can laugh and call Robert Horry "lucky" to have played with great players his entire career But let me tell you, just from the top of my head, their are a few instances those championship teams WOULDNT have won without him
