VDN sucks, the Clippers couldn't be a worse fit for the triangle and Mike Brown isn't all that either. JVG and SVG are the best options out there. Not sure if either guy would want to work for Sterling though.
Well, if you're gonna consider the way they flop.........then there's only one logical choice to coach them. Here's a vote for Jerry Sloan.
JVG because i love hearing him complain about the flopping and i wanna see his face expression when he sees chris paul or blake griffin flop
JVG didn't have the guts to get on McGrady's case about shot selection and playing defense. He's different as a commentator vs. being coach.
JVG's philosophy seems to be "don't mess with a good thing," judging by the story he told Clutch about some scout wanting to improve Novak's shot. Maybe McGrady could have been better with some tough love, but McGrady's mojo might very well get messed up badly by such an approach.
Can't let this go away. Clips beating Grizzlies on the road in a huge game 7 had plenty to do with Vinny's coaching. He's not going anywhere. Horrible, premature thread.
McGrady's "mojo" was bad to start with. He played too softly, bailed out defenders on a regular basis and took more "heat check" shots than just about any player I've seen. His approach to the game was flawed and kept him from greatness. JVG's "don't mess with it" approach with McGrady hindered the success of the Rockets. Anyone with sense would agree not to mess with Novak's shot.
