I will just say to anyone who might be reading the thread that this person's problems likely begin and end with the ability to control sleeping habits. The term is called sleep hygiene. Basically, it means to develop a routine before sleep every night where you turn off all electronic devices about an hour before bed and prepare for bed. The light and stimulation screws with the brain's sleep rhythm and can cause bad sleeping habits. I'm on yahoo messenger at boyluver4u69 if you need to chat.
OP I don't know if you are serious or not but I will share a few thoughts with you. Are you trying to become smarter because you think that is why you are depressed? If so, let me tell you, intellegence doesn't lead to happiness. The smarter you are the more likely you are to be depressed. The truth is, this world is an awful, terrible place and the more things that I learn, the more things that I experience, the worse it gets. I have often wished that I was dumb and that I was oblivious to all these external realities. I don't think you have permanently hurt yourself, but definately eat/sleep well. You are still young and you can make changes.
