Very impressive... but it should be noted that he is doing this in a double-header (had 1 in the first game, then 3 straight in the second game).
Went to the CC Hook game tonight. My wife and I got 2 free tickets and 2 free tshirts. They had fireworks after the game. Oberholtzer pitched great expect for that HR in the 6th I think. Great ballpark! We are going tomorrow also. Good weekend of baseball. Hooks coach got his 1000th career win tonight
Here's an article about George Springer's feat in the double-header that Lancaster had against Lake Elsinore. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120511&content_id=31007524&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb
Don't moonlight as a dancer. They frown on that apparently. Seriously, though....I dig your updates, keep it up.
Keuchel has much better stats in the minor leagues than Wandy ever had. Wandy had a 4.27 ERA in AA and a 4.85 ERA in AAA. Keuchel's is 3.62 in AA and 4.25 in AAA. Wandy had a better K rate, but a worse BB rate. Wandy's last five years have basically put him solidly into a #3 starter, if not #2. He has similar numbers to Tim Hudson over that span for example. I think Keuchel could become a #3 starter. If nothing else, he could be a better JA Happ.
Friday Stories The Astros organization got the... ...except for OKC, who got rained out. A monster night for George Springer! Nick Tropeano looked to continue his dominating start, as he matched up against a former UK star making his return to Lexington as a professional. Recap OKC's series finale with Las Vegas was rained out. As this is the only time that the 51s will visit Oklahoma City, this game will not be made up. Corpus Christi defeated Frisco 4-2, as they got a great start from Brett Oberholtzer, but he had to settle for a no-decision as Jurickson Profar harassed the Hooks' pitching staff all night. Oberholtzer allowed 1 run on 5 hits (solo homer to Profar) in 7 innings, walking 2 and striking out 5. Jair Fernandez hit a 2-run homer (his 1st) in the 3rd to put the Hooks on the board first. Profar took Oberholtzer for a ride in the 6th, then drove in Engel Beltre (who tripled right before Profar) on a sac fly off of Kevin Chapman in the 8th. Corpus answered with 2 of their own in the bottom half in a tough inning for Frisco catcher Zach Zaneski. Brandon Barnes reached on a Zaneski error that scored Austin Wates. Then he was charged with a passed ball that allowed Jose Martinez to score from 3rd. With those 2 runs, Chapman vultured himself a victory. Jason Stoffel allowed a walk in the 9th, but quashed any notions of a comeback with 2 strikeouts to get his 3rd save of the year. Martinez went 2-3 with a double and scored the decisive run in the 8th. Jonathan Singleton went 0-4 with a strikeout and has hit a funk in May, dropping his average to .292 on the season. He's still seeing the ball well, but it looks like the balls he's putting into play have been finding more gloves lately. Also, congratulations to Corpus Christi manager Keith Bodie for his 1000th career managerial victory. They played 2 in Lancaster, and the Jethawks took both games over Lake Elsinore, winning Game 1 7-2 and Game 2 5-3, as George Springer channeled his inner Josh Hamilton at the plate in both games. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>George Springer's final line today: 5-for-7, 4 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R and a SB on top. What a night. <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%2523jethawks">#jethawks</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%2523astros">#astros</a></p>— Jason Schwartz (@jasondschwartz) <a href="https://twitter.com/jasondschwartz/status/201182043722362880" data-datetime="2012-05-12T05:28:31+00:00">May 12, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> In the first game, Springer, batting 2nd, went 2-4 with a homer, 3 RBI, and scored twice. He served as the catalyst of an offensive breakout in the 3rd inning. After Ben Orloff grounded out for the first out, Springer hit a single, then stole 2nd. He would come around to score on an Adam Bailey single. Baliey scored on a Domingo Santana triple, and Santana came home on an Erik Castro single. Springer had an RBI groundout in the 4th scoring Enrique Hernandez. After Ben Heath's RBI double made it a 5-2 game in the 6th, Springer put the finishing touches on the game with a 2-run homer, his 5th of the season. Jonathan Meyer went 2-3, doubling twice and scoring a run. You can see how Bailey (1-4), Santana (1-2), Castro (2-2), and Heath (2-3) got their RBIs. Oh, but Springer was just beginning. In game 2, he went 3-3 with 3 homers and 4 RBI. He now has 8 on the season. Telvin Nash also chipped in a solo blast of his own in the 2nd, his 11th of the season. The two of them combined for Lancaster's entire offense in this one. Pitching-wise, both Lancaster starters were victorious. Tyson Perez got the nod in game 1 and was rather effective, holding the Storm to 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits (solo homer), walking 1, and striking out 5 in 5 innings of work. Jose Trinidad fared much better in his game 2 start than in his first start of the season, as he also went 5 innings, giving up an unearned run on 5 hits, walking 2 and striking out 3. Lexington took the 2nd game of their series with Hagerstown, walking off 4-3 winners. Nick Tropeano was just filthy in the early going, as he had a no-hitter through 5, giving up a single to the first man he saw in the 6th. He plunked Billy Burns in the 4th to give the Suns their only baserunner in that span. Unfortunately, Tropeano hit the wall in the 7th, as he served up 2 homers in the inning. He still did relatively well, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits in 6 2/3 innings, walking 1 and striking out 6. Carlos Quevedo relieved him and got the victory, pitching 2 1 /3 scoreless innings of relief, allowing a hit and recording a strikeout. Brandon Meredith went 2-4 with an RBI single, and Roberto Pena also went 2-4 with a 2-run double. Both guys did their damage in the 6th, when the Legends scored 3 to break a scoreless tie off of former Kentucky pitcher Alex Meyer. Drew Muren also went 2-4 and has been swinging a very hot bat as of late. But Tropeano's trouble in the 7th cancelled that out. After an uneventful 8th, Quevedo retired the side in the 9th, and in the bottom half, Delino DeShields became the one-man rally. After Jimmy Howick grounded to 2nd for the 1st out, DeShields ripped a single to center, then advanced to 2nd on a passed ball. After Jordan Scott drew a walk, DeShields stole 3rd for his 20th steal of the season. Then, Zach Johnson put the ball in the air, and put it deep enough for him to scamper home with the winning run. DeShields finished 1-3 with 2 walks and 2 steals. Starting Pitchers' Game Scores 1. Brett Oberholtzer, Corpus Christi: 66 2. Nick Tropeano, Lexington: 59 3. Jose Trinidad, Lancaster: 56 4. Tyson Perez, Lancaster: 55 Three Stars 3. Telvin Nash, DH/1B, Lancaster Game 1: 0-3, 2 K Game 2: 2-2, 2B, HR (11) Yes, yes, Nash struck out twice in Game 1. But he did his thing in Game 2. 2. Brett Oberholtzer, P, Corpus Christi ND, 7 IP, 5 H, ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 66 Game Score Pitched well enough to receive a win. Too bad he didn't factor in the decision. I hope he doesn't follow this outing with 2 blah outings. 1. George Springer, CF, Lancaster Game 1: 2-4, HR (5), 3 RBI, SB (8), 2 R Game 2: 3-3, 3 HR (8), 4 RBI, 3 R Move over, Josh Hamilton. What a dominating show of force exhibited by George Springer, as he treated Lake Elsinore's pitchers as glorified BP throwers by doubling his season HR total in one night/two games. Before any "It's the California League" remarks sprout up, I'll just say that games like these really make you salivate over Springer's offensive potential. He has the work ethic to improve his discipline at the plate. I can see his strikeout rate declining as the season wears on. He's flipped the switch in May, and it looks like starting him off in Lancaster doesn't seem aggressive after all. Honorable Mentions Jair Fernandez, C, Corpus Christi: Non-prospect delivered a big hit early in the form of his homer. Hey, he's 1 homer away from matching his total from last season! Jose Trinidad, P, Lancaster: He did pretty much what was asked of him: He pitched effectively, and really boosted the Jethawks once Springer began his assault. Tyson Perez, P, Lancaster: Ditto. Jose Martinez, 2B, Corpus Christi: He went 2-3 with a double last night, making it his 5th straight multi-hit game, and 7 in his last 10. A little old on the prospect side, but Martinez is showing the potential that Jeff Luhnow saw in him as a teen. He'd probably be in OKC if Jimmy Paredes were still a 3B. It would be an even greater story if he got the call in September, overcoming tragedy and injuries to reach his goal. That, defines perserverance. Goat Yeah, Kevin Chapman may have gotten the win, but it may as well have been awarded to Brett Oberholtzer. No dishonorable mentions for an all-around solid performance in the system. Looking Ahead Looks like the weather will be cooperating with the Oklahoma City Redhawks as they welcome the Tucson Padres into town for a 4-game set starting tonight. First pitch will be at 7:05. Paul Clemens is looking to get back on track after getting absolutely demolished in his last 2 starts. The Padres will counter with Colt Hynes. Corpus, despite winning last night, has still lost 10 of their last 12. They'll play the 3rd game of their series with Frisco at 7:05. Jake Buchanan will oppose Tim Murphy. I am eagerly anticipating what George Springer can do tonight, following his unreal performance in yesterday's doubleheader against Lake Elsinore. Well, the first pitch will be at 7 Pacific. Lancaster's starter is to be determined. Donn Roach, who I erroneously listed as the starter for Game 2, will oppose TBD on the mound. Luis Ordosgoitti was roughed up in his debut last time out.... hopefully his home debut will bring about much more favorable results. He'll take the hill against Taylor Hill and Hagerstown in the 3rd game of the series. First pitch will be 7:05 Eastern.
Friday Stories Paul Clemens rebounded in a huge way for OKC. But were his efforts enough for a win, for both his team and himself? George Springer: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/08NCZU71XzM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Domingo Santana: How did Luis Ordosgoitti fare in his home debut for Lexington? Recap In OKC's series opener against Tucson, Paul Clemens took the mound. To say that he had a rough start to May would probably be a little too nice. In his first 2 starts of the month, he lasted a grand total of 5 1/3 innings. In that time span, he allowed 15 runs (for a cool 25.31 ERA) on 20 hits (shockingly, only 1 homer), walked 3, and struck out 1. But, he put himself on the road to recovery last night, as he dominated the PAAAdres (see what I did there?) to the tune of 7 shutout innings. Clemens allowed 3 hits, didn't walk a man, and struck out 6. However, his gem was almost ruined as Mickey Storey and Enerio Del Rosario combined on a near-epic fail in the 8th, culminating in Yasmani Grandal clubbing a 2-run homer off Del Rosario with 2 outs. Luckily, the Redhawks offense sufficiently backed up Clemens, and Jose Valdez stopped the bleeding by shutting the door for his 7th save of the season. Offensively, Crash Hessman cranked his 5th homer of the season, a solo shot to lead off the 2nd, which put OKC on the board first. Brian Bixler went 1-4 with an RBI single that also occurred in the 2nd. Fernando Martinez went 2-4 with an RBI single in the 7th. He scored on a Brett Wallace groundout in the same inning. Jimmy Paredes went 2-4 with a 2-run single, also in the 7th, but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. Corpus still continues to stumble along, as they dropped a tough one to Frisco 2-1 in 12 innings. Jake Buchanan did pretty well, going 7 2/3, allowing a run on 6 hits, walking 2 and striking out 1. The lone run off him came from a solo homer by Mike Olt in the 4th. The Hooks have scored 24 runs in their last 7 games. Take out the 17-run outburst against San Antonio on Tuesday and they've scored... 7. The lone run came from a Jonathan Villar single scoring Jose Thompson. Austin Wates was 0-6 with a hat trick. T.J. Steele's employment should be called into question, as he went 0-4 with a strikeout to drop his average to .136. But, according to WTHB: Speaking of Mike Olt, he and Jurickson Profar possessed the uncanny ability to not make an out last night. Profar went 3-6 and doubled 3 times, while Olt went 3-5, finishing a triple shy of the cycle and had 2 RBI. Speaking of Olt's 2nd RBI, it came from a single off Alex Sogard in the 12th that scored Profar, who... doubled to lead off the inning. Sogard went wild, and Profar took 3rd. And the rest was history. Sadly, there was no encore for George Springer as Lancaster took out Lake Elsinore 8-4. He went 1-2 with a single, then was plunked on the hand in the 5th. Not long after, he was drilled in the back when the Storm was trying to force him out at 2nd, and ended up getting pulled to begin the 6th, presumably for precautionary reasons. No word on any injuries, but I hope there are none. Domingo Santana got things started with an RBI groundout in the 1st. More on him in a moment. Erik Castro went 3-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Rene Garcia went 2-4 and also doubled twice. Ben Orloff went 2-4 and scored twice. Jorge De Leon got the start, tossing 3 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits and a walk, and struck out 3. The Storm scored 2 off Zach Grimmett to momentarily take the lead. In the bottom half, though, Garcia doubled to lead off the inning and came around to score after Springer was mauled by the ball. Only one of Erik Castro's doubles resulted in runs. The one in the 5th inning scored 2. Brian Streilein was charged with 2 runs that re-tied the game in the 8th, but Kirk Clark allowed them to score. Fast forward to the bottom of the 9th, with the game tied at 4. What happened? Domingo Santana promptly untied the game by unleashing a walk-off grand slam. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an impressive one. A batter's-eye shot to dead center. The slam was his 3rd homer of the season. Lexington fell to Hagerstown 7-5, as Jason Chowning allowed his first 2 earned runs of the year with a solo homer in the 8th and 9th innings. Chan-Jong Moon made his Legends debut in this game; starting at shortstop and batting 9th, he went 2-4 with an RBI single in the 3rd inning. Zach Johnson went 1-4 with 2 RBI: on a groundout and a single. Delino DeShields had an RBI single in the 3rd. Mike Kvasnicka, continuing to show some signs of life, hit a solo homer in the 4th, his 3rd of the season. Luis Ordosgoitti, in his home debut for Lexington, went 4 innings, allowing 3 runs ( all in the 1st) on 6 hits, walking 1 and striking out 6. Starting Pitcher Game Scores Paul Clemens, Oklahoma City: 77 Jake Buchanan, Corpus Christi: 62 Jorge De Leon, Lancaster: 58 Luis Ordosgoitti, Lexington: 43 Three Stars 3. Domingo Santana, RF, Lancaster 1-5, GS (3), 5 RBI Only 1 hit in this game, but it was a monster walk-off grand slam. I think the light's turning on for Santana. Walking at a pretty good clip now. Still has to get the K rate under 30%. I'd keep him in Lancaster all season, and give him a couple weeks in Corpus to finish off. 2. Jake Buchanan, P, Corpus Christi ND, 7.2 IP, 6 H, ER, 2 BB, K, 91 pitches, 62 Game Score Only 1 strikeout, but that's not his game. On the other hand, command and groundouts are his calling card, and he induced 16 groundouts, compared to only 2 flyouts. Other than getting hassled by Profar and Olt, he looked to be in control for much of the night. 1. Paul Clemens, P, Oklahoma City W, 7 IP, 3 H, 6 K, 77 Game Score, 84 pitches That should be good enough to get him a shoutout from Baseball America. He really needed a good outing after getting bombed in his last 2 starts, and went out and spun an absolute gem. He's on his way to getting back on the right track. I'm digging the pitch count, which means that he probably had a relatively easy night. Honorable Mentions Crash Hessman, Oklahoma City: Add another homer to his minor league total. Jorge De Leon, P, Lancaster: I highly doubt that the Astros are stretching him into a starter, but he did his job. As the lowest-level player on the 40-man roster though, he needs to go on a tear soon. Jose Valdez, P, Oklahoma City: Cleaned up the mess left by the two guys before him. Erik Castro, DH/1B, Lancaster: Claim to (some) fame: He was Stephen Strasburg's catcher at San Diego State. Solid night at the plate. Mike Kvasnicka, C/DH, Lexington: Finished off a great week with a solo shot. He's now on a nice 5-game hitting streak, has had a hit in 8 of the last 10, and has reached safely in 9 out of 10. In those 10 games, he has posted an OPS of .901, and is hitting a much more respectable .258/.324/.548 this month. And.... hey, Kvas has already got 3 homers and he's only played 26 games this season. Compare that to last season, when he had 4 (in 128 games). Co-Goats Mickey Storey and Enerio Del Rosario share the dishonor for nearly saddling Paul Clemens with a no-decision. Dishonorable mentions go to Telvin Nash and Austin Wates for hat-tricks. Also, I still like him a lot, and he shouldn't even be in Lexington, but Jason Chowning earns a little bit of ire as he allowed the go-ahead homer to Justin Miller with 2 outs in the 8th and the game-sealing homer to Matt Skole with 2 outs in the 9th. Looking Ahead OKC and Tucson meet in game 2 of their series, as TBA (I presume that it will be Aneury Rodriguez) and Josh Geer face off. First pitch will be at 2:05. Corpus and Frisco play the finale of their series at 1:05. Jarred Cosart will take the hill against Justin Grimm. Lancaster gets Mother's Day off as they travel to Rancho Cucamonga for a 3-game series starting Monday. R.J. Alaniz will be the starter, and his opponent will be Jon Michael Redding. Lexington and Hagerstown finish off their series at 1:35 Eastern. The starters are TBD. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Mike Foltynewicz will be the starting pitcher.
Lexington and Hagerstown were rained out, and the game has not been rescheduled as of yet. The next time that the Suns return to Lexington will be from July 13-17, so if there is a doubleheader, I presume they'll fit it into one of those days.
Hey, are there any good websites I can visit to get UPDATED prospect rankings? It seems the rankings are only updated 2-3 times a year at most sites. It would be nice to get the very latest picture of which prospects are (supposedly) viewed as the top guys in the organization. Also, I would suggest updating the OP with links to those sites, rather than have them get lost within this thread.
i don't think the respected sites (baseball prospectus, baseball america) do in-season adjusting of the prospect rankings, other than removing prospects who have used up their rookie eligibility, or adding and subtracting players on teams' lists who were acquired in in-season trades. sounds like you are simply looking to see who is hot in our organization. if that's the case, i refer you to tellitlikeitis' posts, found right here in this thread daily which gives us a recap of the daily on-goings of our minor league affiliates.
For me, I see prospect rankings getting updated when: 1. A trade involving a top prospect occurs. 2. Usually after the trade deadline. 3. After the fall and winter leagues wrap up. Usually Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus update along these lines. If you want some Astros prospect discussion, I follow the Astros affiliates (and certain people) on Twitter, and these are my go-to sites. What the Heck, Bobby? A play on the name of the Assistant GM of Scouting, Bobby Heck. Among other things, Jayne, who is in charge of this blog, has profiles and interviews of various players throughout the system, does recaps, a tweet of the day from a random farmhand, and a WTH 25-Man Roster, where readers choose the roster from a selection of players, and those named to the roster will be paid some.... extra attention. Her Twitter is @whattheheck57. Farmstros This blog is on top of things when Opening Day rosters are announced. On Twitter: @farmstros The Crawfish Boxes Probably the Astros blog. Minor League recaps posted every morning, Monday recaps the weekend's action. The primary recapper, Brooks, can be found on Twitter at @Subber10. Astros County The Juvenile Court Clerk, Bryan Trostel, is in charge of the PreStros Farm Report. He can be found at @The_Batguy. For everything else, go to @AstrosCounty. Appy Astros This blog covers the Astros' Rookie-level team, the Greeneville Astros, and all the players that have passed through the little Tennesee town in the Appalachians. Their season doesn't start until mid-June, so they're undergoing a little bit of downtime. Find him at @AppyAstros. Also, Minor League Ball is a great discussion site, but they focus more on everyone's farm systems.
I went to the CC Hook game Saturday night. We sat behind home plate. The Hook starting pitchers sat right behind us taking pitch counts and doing the radar gun. I was able to chat with Jared Cosart at length. Nice guy. We also talked to Bret Oberholtzer and the rest of the pitching staff. Ross Seaton guy was rude to my wife though.
Sunday Stories With the A clubs taking the day off (in Lexington's case, for weather reasons), OKC and Corpus were the only teams in action today, and their bats were out in full force. For OKC, it came down to the wire. The #1 prospect, looking to get on track after scuffling to begin May, looked to get back on track today. Recap OKC walked off 6-5 winners in their game with Tucson. The Redhawks cranked out 16 hits, but only 2 of them went for extra bases. Both were doubles from Justin Ruggiano and Jimmy Paredes. 5 guys chipped in with an RBI, and Paredes scored on a wild pitch in the 4th inning. Ruggiano was 2-2 and his RBI single came in the 3rd for the first Redhawks run. Paredes went 4-5 with a double, an RBI, scored twice, and stole 2 bases. 3 RBI singles in the 7th from Diory Hernandez, Brett Wallace, and Paredes gave them a 5-4 lead. Enerio Del Rosario allowed the tying run in the 8th, but not to worry, Carlos Corporan came through in the 9th, slapping a single to right field that sent Paredes home with the winning run. Yes, you read that correctly. Carlos Corporan delivered the game-winning hit. Aneury Rodriguez went 4 innings, allowing 3 runs (all in the 2nd inning) on 8 hits (2-run homer), walked 3, and struck out 1. Jonnathan Aristil allowed another run on 3 hits in 2 innings as the first man out of the bullpen. Adalberto Flores threw a perfect 7th, then Del Rosario got 2 outs in the 8th but allowed the Padres to tie the game. Xavier Cedeno came on, got the final out of the 8th, held them scoreless in the 9th, and got the victory. In 1 1/3 innings, he allowed a hit and struck out 2. Corpus was able to earn a split in their series with Frisco, taking today's game 7-3. A big day for Jonathan Singleton, who was really struggling this month, as he went 2-3 with a 3-run homer in the 3rd, his 5th of the season. Austin Wates went 2-5 and scored twice. Jonathan Villar went 2-4 with a double and a run scored. Jake Goebbert went 2-4 with an RBI triple in the 6th. Jose Martinez went 1-4 with an RBI single in the 7th and scored twice. Later in the inning, Singleton added an RBI single of his own, and Brandon Barnes, who went 3-4, ripped an RBI double. Jarred Cosart went 6 1/3, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, walked 2, and fanned 4. Arcenio Leon got an 8-out save, allowing a run on 3 hits (solo homer), walking 1 and striking out 1. Lancaster had the day off. They begin a series with Rancho Cucamonga tomorrow. Lexington's series finale with Hagerstown was rained out, and no makeup date has been announced. Starting Pitcher Game Scores 1. Jarred Cosart, Corpus Christi: 51 2. Aneury Rodriguez, Oklahoma City: 33 Three Stars 3. Xavier Cedeno, P, Oklahoma City W, 1.1 IP, H, 2 K Nice outing for him, and he got a well-deserved win for it. I don't know about you, but I would much rather have Cedeno in the Houston bullpen over Fernando Abad. 2. Jimmy Paredes, 2B, Oklahoma City 4-5, 2B, RBI, 2 R, 2 SB (7) Really solid game from him. Unfortunately, Jose Altuve looks like he's made himself comfortable manning 2nd base in Houston. I know Paredes made the switch back to 2nd in the spring, but he may have to learn to play everywhere in order to stick in the majors. His athleticism could stick in center or right field, IMO. 1. Jonathan Singleton, 1B, Corpus Christi 2-3, HR (5), 4 RBI He's showing us why he's the #1 prospect yet again. I'm not overly concerned with the fact that he's only got 5 homers; Whataburger Field isn't a great place for left-handed hitters. He needed a game like this to get back on track, as he wasn't having the best start to May. In Singleton's defense, he still showed great discipline. The balls he put into play weren't finding the holes or dropping into an empty patch of grass. Honorable Mentions Brandon Barnes, CF, Corpus Christi: If the organization's outfield depth wasn't so deep, he'd probably be in OKC, and he's too old for Corpus (he's turning 26 on Tuesday). But he's stormed out of the gate at the start. The entire Corpus Christi and Oklahoma City offenses: Combined for 30 hits. Hopefully this performance can snap Corpus out of the lull they've been going through. Goat Well, seemed a little tough since the teams that were able to play both won. But, unfortunately, one guy for OKC couldn't seem to get in the groove that everyone else seemed to be enjoying. Mike "Crash" Hessman is tonight's goat for his hat trick. Dishonorable mention goes to Enerio Del Rosario for allowing Tuscon to tie the game in the 8th. Looking Ahead OKC and Tucson meet in game 3 of their series. First pitch will be at 7:05. Dallas Keuchel will take the mound for the Redhawks, and the Padres go with Jorge Reyes. Corpus Christi will be heading up I-37, as they start a series with San Antonio. Ross Seaton will oppose Keyvius Sampson. First pitch, 7:05. Lancaster will be the guests of Rancho Cucamonga as they begin a 3-game set. R.J. Alaniz will be the Jethawks' starter, going up against Jon Michael Redding. First pitch will be at 7:05 Pacific. Lexington travels to Charleston, the capital of West Virginia, as they kick off a series with the West Virginia Power beginning at 7:05 Eastern. Mike Foltynewicz and Nick Kingham will be the starters.
