Sorry for re-posting the link. Trying to figure out how to get the graphic from the Trade Machine to show up. Why is there no Edit button?
Maybe something like Martin + 16th for Jefferson or Millsap? Would love to have Hayward. Can you imagine what the Rockets can achieve with both Parsons and Hayward in terms of marketing to the preteen girls demographic? Preteen $ will be the new Chinese $.
Don't forget the 35-and-up blondes sitting there with their beers in the lower sections: "There's that Parsons, he's dreamy....did you eat all the nachos? Oh well, if the TV camera catches me eating nachos, my husband'll never shut up about it...."
The NBA Draft Lottery will be held on May 30. There is still a fairly decent chance that Utah gets Golden State's first round pick. If the Warriors (currently in the #7 position) don't get a top-3 pick and if ANY team slotted behind Golden State does get a top-3 pick, then Utah will receive what could be the #8 (a decent chance), #9 (not very likely) or #10 (highly unlikely) pick from Golden State. I'll go out on a limb and say that they won't be engaging in trade discussions serious enough to yield "inside information" until June rolls around and Utah is still without a first round pick.
This is definitely a type of promotions opportunity that needs to to be exploited. "Mothers Taking Daughters to Rockets Game Night! Be among the first 2000 Mother/Daughter pairs and get a Chandler Parsons doll and a raffle ticket for a dinner/movie date with Chandler!" There is indeed a 28% or so chance that Utah gets GSW's pick. However, I still wouldn't be surprised if there are "what if" talks between Houston and Utah already. After all, it's kind of the front office guys' jobs to do it. I am sure they are all scouting and stuff, but it's not like there isn't enough time in the day to have this kind of talks. No sense waiting til May 30s to talk about this kind of stuff (and it's not like they are talking about some remote contigency, like the 0.8% chance of the Rockets winning the lotto).
Lowry+Patterson+Marcus Morris+Dalembert+#14+#16 for Dwight Howard. Howard/Camby Scola/Motiejunas Parsons/Budinger Martin/Lee Dragic/FA pickup
-14th to Jazz to close the deal -Keep Scola -trade down and pick up Quincy Miller out of Baylor (GRV for part the season in time we will/may have something in this one. He is what we were hoping Morris would be; and maybe more IMO) PG: Dragic/Llull/FA SG: Lee/Burks SF: Parsons/Morris/Miller PF: Scola/Montiejunas C: Pekovic/Favors/Smith
We can still trade it to them. It may become more valuable because I think after a few more years it becomes unprotected.
Josh Smith has been involved in trade rumors for a long time. From looking at the board, the Jazz are looking to acquire a mid-round draft pick. If Miami doesn't win this year, I could see some change. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=co5jwmk Atlanta Hawks receive - Chris Bosh Houston Rockets receive - Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, Jeff Teague Utah Jazz receive - Kevin Martin, Kyle Lowry, & Houston's #14 overall pick. Miami Heat receive - Devin Harris & Luis Scola Resign: Camby, Dragic, Lee Line Up PG: Dragic, Llull, Teague G: Lee, draft pick SF: Parsons, Budinger, Morris PF: Smith, Montiejunas, Patterson C: Jefferson, Camby
I know you are joking, but anyway, #'s 14, 16 and 18 completely outweigh a #1. One of those picks could end up being a player who performs slightly less or equal to Anthony Davis. You never know. If the Rockets are capable of getting that 18th pick for Martin, then use that pick to draft a player. Thats really a steal
Who with a 16th pick or later went on to become a superstar? Rondo, Boozer, Crash, M.Gasol, Tony Parker, Josh Smith, West, Ginobili, Artest, Ellis are, are close to or were all stars.... a tier below...
